Have you noticed that he was faster than those guys in the first 10 yards of that 40 yard dash, too? Having a pass rusher that can actually outrun the most athletic QBs from the pocket is huge. It's the difference between a sack and one of those "johnny footbawl" type plays materializing.
Aaron Donalds 4.66 for a guy 30 lbs heavier was more impressive to me. Thats crazy fast for a DT. I don't think he's going to be better than CLowney but thats moving.

Clowney is awesome, he sounds a whole like Martez Wilson. 4.49 40 yd dash (vs 4.53) 23 reps (vs 21) 36 vert (vs. 37.5) 10.4" broad jump (vs. 10.4") 34 5/8" arms (vs 34.5") And, I mean with the great career that Martez Wilson has had... er...
How long did it take you to come up with that comparison? It's quite a stretch because he was nowhere near the player in college and nowhere near the talent Clowney is. There is more to being a football player than raw numbers, everyone knew Clowney had the talent because he was the most feared, most disruptive college defensive player in the country the past 2 years, now he showed he has the raw numbers on top of that.
Why did Clowney bow out of the remaining events? People were already questioning his toughness and desire.
Yeah I heard the same, but when I checked back he had numbers posted he didn't have before like the 3 cone
I don't have a problem with anyone slobbering over combine numbers. It's the first tangible thing we've had to evaluate prospects on since the year ended. But everyone should be aware by now that running and jumping isn't everything when it comes to success in pro sports. It's up to the scouts to find out who has the right mixture of talent and desire to succeed, and no one here should pretend they know anything about the latter.
Honestly it took me about 30 seconds to come up with. My memory extends to prior to this year. You're the one who has been trumpeting Clowney's freakish physical attributes nonstop as a reason to draft him for the last month, not me. Now it's the game tape? Suddenly production is important. Sounds to me like you are altering the conditions to fit the conclusions, but ok, I'll play. Lesse... Martez Wilson on the field: 4 sacks (vs. 3 for Clowney) 3 forced fumbles (vs. 1 for Clowney) 11.5 tackles for loss (vs 11.5 for Clowney) 47 solo tackles (vs. 28 for Clowney) 1 interception (vs. 0 for Clowney) 112 total tackles (vs. 40 for Clowney) Hmm... Your argument for Clowney seems to come back to "everyone knew Clowney had the talent" (i.e. the Hype Machine).
Yeah very disappointing. Just like Bridgewater not running the 40. I like the guys who know how good they are and just go compete.
Ah so context isn't a big thing for you then? Gotcha. I'm not even going to bother going into it further, if you can't figure out why your comparison is laughable, that's on you.
I have nothing against Clowney. It's your zealotry that bothers me. Although the context of Clowney shutting it down on the field this year to protect his payday is worrisome.
No surprise, Clowney is a freak. If BO'B doesn't think teddy or the other two are franchise guys, bring on the beast.
I'm sure in 2012 some Colts fans were bothered by other Colts fan's "zealotry" when it came to Andrew Luck, but I'm not sure how many of them compared him to Kevin O'Connell as a result....
