He directed Caddy Shack, National Lampoon's Vacation, Groundhog Day, Analyze This and Bedazzled. Some of the best comedies of all time.

Add on to his writing credits Stripes, Ghostbusters, Armed and Dangerous and Groundhog day and you have a legend.

Oh my God. This is horrible news. He was a part of some of the funniest movies ever made.

    Caddyshack
    Animal House
    Vacation
    Stripes
    Ghostbusters

Comedy classics to which all other comedies are judged by.

    RIP.

That really sucks. I guess that answers the question of "will there be another 'Ghostbusters' movie?" because I think he was driving a lot of that for a while but they could not get Bill Murray to reprise his role. I bet they eventually reboot "Ghostbusters", though, like everything else.

Who can forget him in that role and in "Stripes"? Also, "Groundhog Day", "Animal House", "Caddy Shack", and "Vacation" were huge.

    Shocked and saddened.

    RIP

I liked him as an old stoner dad in Knocked Up, he brought an old school wise sensibility to the comedy.

He was literally the Steven Spielberg of movie comedies. No hyperbole.

Groundhog Day is one of the finest motion pictures ever made. No hyperbole there either.
