Yup, Julius Peppers is terrible at pushing off OL's because he only did 24 reps at the combine....

If you are making a big deal about the bench press reps, it's probably because you have a flawed understanding of what goes into on the field strength or because you have an agenda and you are looking for any excuse to bash Clowney in the hopes that it will somehow make your preferred prospect look better.

Not only that, but force is mass times acceleration, and Clowney has a lot of both. No one who has seen him play questions his ability to bull rush.

Can someone repost that gif of our D-Line unable to get pressure on Brady?

I am trying to save it but I cant find where it went.

    Damn dude calm down.

Where did I say he was bad at pushing off OLs? Bench press strength has a lot to do with ability to press off OL...in addition to technique ect.

Difference is Peppers didn't have a problem fighting off double teams his last year of college. Also Clowney had his best years at SC when he had other NFL talent on the field with him (more so than he had this past year).

He had a great 40 time though. If we were starting a track team he would be at the top of my board.

We all knew about his speed. What about his motor?

The bench press reps correlate to motor? His stamina could be average.

Exactly...his motor is more important. He needs to be able to continue pushing (like Watt). Also, I dont wouldnt want the guy stumbling into the 4th quarter of games because his motor/stamina isnt above average.

SMH....still more bench press talk? I thought we put this to bed already? Does Aldon Smith have a bad motor? Does Julius Peppers have a bad motor?

    Stop reaching.

Well lucky for Clowney he will be joining a team in the NFL where guess what? He'll be playing with other NFL talent!

This bench press thing is stupid, Aldon Smith only did 20 reps at the combine and everyone here wanted him.

If Clowney could be our version of Aldon Smith, pure speed rusher, who is one of the best sack artist in the league, I am completely fine with that.

^Did you see the question mark? It was a question..225 20 times is kinda weak even if he has long arms.

And Aldon Smith didn't run anything close to a 4.47 40
