Can't it be all of the above? 1) He was legitimately hurt 2) He wanted out 3) Morey was trying to trade him Factors 2 & 3 likely extended his absence. We all know that the moment Morey starts shopping a player, he is pulled from the active roster until the deals are decided.
The Rockets physician said large amounts of fluid was building up after strenuous workouts. I think it's fairly conclusive under those circumstances he could not get cleared to play that way. I'm surprised people still think it was somehow exaggerated or faked.
Sorry DD, but it does matter, to me anyhow! Had he been available instead of going AWOL he might of been the difference between a loss and a win in several occasions. As it stands we will never know, and that bugs the heck out of me. ....... ....... .......
He has to play now,if he doesn't it would destroy his chance of getting his next and probably last big contract.
T-Mac 'faked' his injury, it was to not get traded. Asik 'faked' his injury to get traded... Logical.
Can't believe there are still guys beliveing he faked the rockets organisation about his injury.. IF he was clear to play the doctors would have known and then there is no point in playing him now. And IF they knew it's a common decision by the organisation AND Asik.. Now if he was hurt (like I believe in) and was feeling better he probably was told to continue to rehab till he's at 100%, because of the risk of loosing him for the playoffs - end of story
Some of you guys need to wake up. Having an injury is going to kill your trade value way more than a surly attitude. The guy was injured, he also wanted out. They aren't mutually exclusive. He has been playing hard for us and I will continue to cheer him on.
stupid thread. not playing doesnt do anybody good. now, i think he was hurt, but healthy enough to play. but doing so wouldve hurt his trade stock, and he knew that. at this point, he wants to play at 100% to showcase himself. definitely injured, IMO--i see no reason or logical motive for him to just sit out because he's upset. he knows the rockets will only trade him if he lives up to their value mark
