The broken taillight in the back of the truck still broken 10 years later made a nice metaphor for their friendship.

I think Marty is still a little raw about his wife.

I really wish they would have elaborated some more. The tuttle thing became obvious a couple of episode ago according to some others.

Too much of this Marty family troubles story line. Nobody cares (besides of course the nice booties). It better tie in to the murder suspect in some way or else I don't see its purpose.

Eh...Probably the worst episode of the season so far. Wasn't bad by any means, but just not as good as the others.

What was the timeline of Coyle and the woman Harts wife set him up with in relation to when he had sex with Harts wife? The new detectives had no clue where she wound up but it appeared as if Coyle had been focused only on the Lang case for some in 2002.

the original investigation was in 1995. The second investigation that Cohle is doing solo is in 2002. in between these years was the relationship Cohle had with the lady Marty's wife set him up with. Cohle had sex with Marty's wife after this relationship in 2002. The modern investigation with the two cops who suspect Cohle is 2012.

Well there are the daughters drawings and perhaps even prostitution with the two boys. Hart has also shown violence towards women. Hitting his daughter, choking his wife and the incident with the first mistress.

The relationship with the former prostitute also seems like too much of a coincidence.

I'm almost certain Marty's daughter was part of an attack. However, Marty is not involved.

I'm thinking Marty's father-in-law may be involved, but Marty is too big of a p***y to be. He and Cohle both have nothing to do with the killings directly, but they are tied to it in some way.

Marty puked after beating those kids, if he loses his lunch over something so trivial no way he does things crazier.

    Not a bad episode

Kinda agree with most, the episode didn't tell us too much that we didn't already have suspicions about regarding Tuttle.

Also, this is episode is one of the reasons why I love HBO shows

Thanks for GIFs Convictedstupid & Svpernaut

So, does Cohle and Marty's exchange at the end squash the theory that they planned their fall out?

    To me, yes.

At the end of last episode when Cohle was in the derelict school and the camera slowly zoomed out of the door/glass (whatever) I was expecting to see Marty quickly look in and go 'F...'

I don't know why. But I feel he has something to do with it all. (and a large role at that)

So it sounds like the man with the scars is still alive. I kind of assumed that was Ledoux, but we saw so little of Ledoux that I can't even remember if he had scars around his face or not. Can't be Tuttle, so I'm guessing the man with the scars hasn't even been introduced yet. I suppose that guy really isn't important if the ultimate culprit is some huge religious leader/governor, but it feels odd that with two episodes left in the show we still haven't seen the guy that has inspired the most fear in his victims.

Kind of agree with others that this episode wasn't quite on par with the others, but still pretty good.

The weird part is that he met her when she was underage and had a problem with it. Now like a year later he is perfectly cool.

Sidenote: That actress is ****ING amazing. I think she was in True Blood also?
