And the advanced stats sites speculate that the Heat, with Asik, might just be unbeatable until Wade breaks down. Next to Love Bosh may be the best fit at PF in Houston.

that would be a good point, if it weren't for the fact that all three of those guys took less than the max.

Bellinelli is a useful guy-- not a guy who makes a team a whole level better, but useful. I think Morey chased a few Bellinelli types with the room exception this past summer: Corey Brewer and Mike Dunkeavy were reported and there may have been more. Brewer ended up getting a lot more $ and Dunleavy chose to stay in the Midwest (CHI being close to MIL).

I think Morey will still need to keep an eye on cap flexibility until this core proves how good they are in the offseason. The Spurs were 1 minute away from the title last year. So it made sense for them to keep their core and replace some parts (like Marco in for Gary Neal) and see how much juice their team still has. How close are the Rockets? We'll find out.

Yeah by like one million. It was good PR but in reality it really didn't make a difference considering they got an extra year at the max.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign a player through 2015 if the money is relatively little (~$2-3 million), as those sorts of contracts aren't too difficult to move. Any contract at the MLE will very likely not have any guaranteed money after the first year of the contract. The Rockets front office is serious about the 2015 free agent class.

At this point Marco is as good or better than Manu. He's way better than Brewer or Dunleavy. Who cares if he supposedly 'chased' guys? Did he sign any of them? That's the bottom line. If you have a shot at a ring, are you going to come up short and then say, "well, we chased some guys, but couldn't make it happen"?
