morey really values those 2nd round picks vs other teams so could've been a problem that got in the way especially if he wasn't interested in melo like Codman is saying. He's banking on 2015 so guess he was ok with waiting it out. Cap is cool if it comes down to it this summer, but I still wanted to see asik & Lin as backups in the playoffs just see do they step up. If they would've left and we didn't get to WCF I would've always had the what if asik+Lin were still here when we need more playmaking or Howard is struggling in back if my head.

I wouldn't be comfortable with anything at the 4 but dmo right now, if I had a spot to upgrade it would be the 4 with a stretch 4 or a big body solid defender 4.

Any chance Rockets can sign Jamal Crawford? Any chance Clippers will give him up? He'd be the perfect fit for us.

There's basically no chance, we can't trade for him because the dealine is over and clips would have no reason to waive him as he is a key player avg 19 points for the clips.

That's the thing about youngin's that are well below age 25. Their selfish logic makes them quite obtuse on these forums. Thinkin' any player on any team can be had disregarding the other team's situation.

The Clippers are going to sign Big Baby & they might sign Danny Granger too because Dudley has been awful.

Doubt the additions have the chemistry to click. I say Dwight needs to look at Turk, Big Baby, Reddick, Barnes and company as ex teammates that he needs to crush in game action. Beat these punk Clippers Dwight. Draw up the motivation.

    Pure BS speculation:

If the Rockets are interested in Granger, I wonder if there is an "under the table trade" being worked out between Houston and Philly.

Marc Stein reported that Hinkie has so far only said he is open to discuss a buyout but has not agrees to do one. Stein also said that the Sixers are hoping to realize some value by doing a Granger sign and trade him for some value.

Right now, Philly salary is so low that I don't think Granger giving back some money actually allows Philly to save much money, if any. I don't know if the amount that he gives back will increase their cap space significantly if they want to make, for example, a draft day trade.

So, I am speculating that one way for Philly to benefit is for them to agree with Granger that "we'll release you if you agree to sign with Houston" and to agree with Houston that if Granger signs with them, they will release, for example, Robert Covington to make space and then Philly can make a waiver claim on the guy. Or alternatively, Houston can agree to, for example, sell Philly one of the Knicks 2nd rounders for cash.

Now, there are a few of flaws to this. First, it's circumvention of the CBA. But if you don't put it on paper, you can't enforce it (Right, Kevin McHale and JR Smith?). Second, there is no way to actually enforce Granger's end of the bargain. He can say "screw you guys" and sign with the Clippers if he wants. So, it's just kind of an "honor system" with the only enforcement being people remember Granger or his agent screwing them. Third, Milwaukee (and no other team) has higher waiver priority than Philly and the cap room to eat a small contract. So you better be sure they are not interested in the guy you are "trading" or you must arrange for alternative compensation.

Again, this is totally out of thin air conspiracy theory.

Big Baby will fit really well with the Clippers. Granger will probably choose the team he can get the most playing time & shots so I think that will be the Clippers. Maybe an outside chance is the Mavericks.

    Bwahahahahahahaha!

So I don't have the market cornered on under-the-table speculation. Yes, the Rox do have $1.4 million of money left that they could send Philly for a second rounder prior to June 30th.

So.......what you are saying is feasible.

The part that isn't feasible is releasing Covington. First of all, Rockets aren't going to release Covington. Secondly, if they did then Milwaukee is sitting there with a roster spot open. They would probably jump on Covington.

But the other part of it....$1.4 million for a second rounder on June 30th....I can see that happenign.

Houston is not mentioned as a possible landing site. LAC, DAL, MIA, SAS all better places for Danny with a contract year.

For the right price, why not? I doubt he wants play behind Parsons, who gets a ton of minutes. He will probably go to the Clippers like everybody else. Also, there are a bunch of threads that speculate his next move.

Great stretch 4 if he can find his shot.
