Do you really think poll results from a Houston Rockets fan site is going to convince Warriors fans of anything?
Ditto. That being said, I would not sleep on this team. Don't let their record fool you. This team can get going and their core players are solid as a unit but, as some have mentioned, their bench needs some work. The warriors are a roster tweak away from doing some serious playoff damage. I believe that the pick up of Blake will prove to be a wise move once he gets integrated/acclimatize to the system.
Warriors are a dumb team. They look good on paper but their role players are playing terribly. And Iggy has not found his fit. Team is overrated. They'll be out in the first round.
Asik, Dmo, And Jones need to up their game for the Rockets to compete against this team in the Play Offs, especially Bogut back. Greg Smith will not be on the Play Off Roster, you best believe it.
That's basically what the Rockets are. Don't they take the most 3s in the league? And their max money big man is apparently able to be neutralized by 50 year-old Jermaine O'Neal. There are plenty of examples of perimeter-oriented teams getting hot in the playoffs and advancing.
Not afraid. They're talented but they don't expose our weaknesses like Memphis or (maybe) the Clippers do. They're also just as, if not more, inconsistent than us. Their coaching is below-average, their bench is still poor (though it's improved), and they don't get that many easy buckets.
They are a jump shooting team in that they take a lot of them, but their shots don't have to fall for them to win (at least not a lot of them). The Rockets are only #18 in 3 point percentage (Warriors are #5), and their record is 37-18, so it's not like they have to hit threes at an above average clip to win games. Plus, the Warriors don't have anyone who can take over like Harden.
Well, you're 3/4s right. The rockets are a jumpshooting team that rely on the 3 way too much but Howard is usually a reliable presence in the paint. We attempt to play the inside out came, poorly, with little midrange game. The warriors on the other hand put almost all their money on jumpers from all over the floor. I feel that they can be covered well when teams have to give it their all.
Warriors are the most overrated team in the nba. Espn has the warriors as a contender. I always had them as a 6th or 7th seed at best. I want the suns or warriors in the first round of the playoffs. We own them.
1. Overrated big time, they were lucky that SA series even went 6, SA should have beat them in 5. 2. Threat to Rockets, ABSOLUTELY NOT. 3. Worried: OF COURSE NOT. 1. We laid an egg, as you stated, and we WOULD have won without that biased, 1-sided officiating, we never could get into any offensive rhythm because of that alone. 2. I do remember that as well from '09. All we had to do was beat Dallas on the final game of that season and we would have been the #2 seed (behind LAL that season), unfortunately, we lost and fell to #5. EVERYBODY, including most of the people in HOU (except C-Fans and coach JVG in the national media) thought we would lose to POR. We would have swept them, if they didn't luck up and win Game 2 of that series. I still stand by what I said then if Yao had been healthy the whole LAL series (if we were either #2 or #5), we would have beat the Lakers in that series and likely won the title that year (assuming if we played ORL in that same Finals).
The Rockets have an advantage in the regular season match ups because of their running style offense, the Warriors were always tired to defend the Rockets' fast pace, and have no energy left on offense, hence the bad shooting %. In a playoff series, neither team will be able to run much, so it will come down to half court execution. Howard always had trouble to score against O'Neil in the past, and you add a shot-blocker Bogut to the mix, the Rockets will not be able to score in the post at 5, so it's a draw with slightly defensive advantage to the Rockets. Johns and DMO should have an easier time to score since Lee is a terrible defender, but neither of them can guard Lee on offense, and Lee is a volume scorer, so advantage to the Warriors. Harden should have an advantage at his position, but the last few meetings between him and Igg, most time Igg ended up on top. So this is a tough call. Parsons and Thompson is a toss up, entirely depends on Thompson's performance. When he is on, he will have a big advantage over Parsons, but he is not consistent, and regressed from last season, so I'd call this a draw. Curry vs. Beverly/Lin, advantage Warriors. I expect the Warrior to win the series in 6 games.
Pretenders, not contenders. They needed home court advantage + huge favor from the refs + bad shooting night from most of the team + Harden getting injured in order to beat us in overtime.
they don't believe me when i told them that no one in Houston cares about the Warriors, we don't take them seriously, and that we don't see them as a threat. this thread proves it. they want to believe that the Warriors are feared and respected by whole league.
