Most of the top point guards need the ball in their hands and shoot a lot so who should OKC have play pg for them? A Mario Chalmers type pg definitely not getting that team a ring. I guess it would depends who you actually traded Westbrook for.
could his knee injury caused brain damage too ? really stupid shots tonight, dont remember him taking THAT much ...
I don't think it is far fetched to trade Westbrook but who would you get back? I guess a guy like Rondo would be perfect for the Thunder but Westbrook is one of the best players in the NBA... I think they will find their groove again, just not against great teams like the Heat or Clippers.
Until people start complaining about Rondo bricking wide open shots. Rondo also needs the ball in his hands to be effective it's just he doesn't look to score like Westbrook
I tell you the perfect PG for OKC? IMO it is MIKE CONLEY If OKC could trade Westbrick for Conley and some other high value player or two or picks etc - I think both teams would be better off. The main pieces would be WB and Conley Memphis would have their big 3 in WB, ZBo and Gasol OKC would have a really good under-rated PG in Conley who plays solid D and runs the team very well - Durant will get his touches
There's a big difference between a) taking shots, looking for the most efficient scoring opportunity and b) chucking early in the shotclock, trying to play hero basketball and not feeding the open man. Westbrook is the worst pg possible next to KD, he takes him out of his comfort zone and hurts the teamplay. Know it'll be difficult to trade RW for something with equal value, but Thunders should look into it.
One more knee surgery and it will be a serious question. Forget whether or not Westbrook is the right fit alongside Durant. The real concern is can he stay healthy.
Reggie Jackson is a better fit next to Durant. OKC probably should have traded Westbrook instead of Harden. Westbrook nets you far better assets on the market and OKC sold low on Harden.
Right but he hasn't had one more knee surgery. As of now he has a lot of value of course if he doesn't have any trouble with the knees before the off-season.
Would Westbrook want to play in Memphis though? I honestly believe he'll bolt to the Lakers if he has any excuse to right now. I mean he's fine playing in OKC right now with his pal Durant, but if for whatever reason these guys don't start winning and going to the finals they will both be bolting elsewhere. But meh that's a discussion for another day (hopefully...)
Unless the information I just looked up was wrong, Westbrook is locked up through 2017. So he can't bolt anywhere. He's either playing for OKC or whomever he's traded to.
Well Durant didn't sign with Jay-Z to stay in Oklahoma City, that much is certain... And if (when) Durant leaves, Westbrook will assuredly bolt as well. The Lakers seem likely, but who knows what their roster will look like at that time.
