Looks like cutting weight and his long arms killed his bench press number, yet he still showed up to compete anyway.

Dude Mario Williams benched what he benched 35 times. You know what Brady Quinn benched it 24 times. I thought he said he was going to destroy all drills hmm

He is 30 pounds lighter than Mario....I guess he should have taken the cowardly way out like Bridgewater....

When you train for speed and agility, you lose brute strength.

Lol the cowardly way or the smart way? It's a business's bro. Your not obligated to do it in the combine and if you feel you rather do it at your pro day so be it . I don't see it as a coward, just smart. I'm sure he wanted to but his agent didn't let him.

I'm sorry, but if you want to be an NFL player, you need a competitive nature that Bridgewater simply lacks. When Clowney runs a 4.4 or 4.5 tomorrow, you'll see why he only put up 21 reps.

That doesn't really mean anything. In my prime I put up 225 32 times yet could only bench about 400 on my best day. I had buddies at the time who could only do about 20 and were putting up close to 500lb's. Its an endurance test.

That's weak... Blake and Johnny should be happy about this.

Show me one logical reason that a DE's bench numbers will enhance Blake and Johnny's draft status? Dumb post is DUMB!!!

Because it doesn't enhance Clowney's draft status to be a #1 pick. He's supposedly such a physical freak but only managed to lift the bar 21 times. He just solidified he has a poor work ethic and possibly a low motor.

Maybe he will lift again at his pro day...

Clowney needs to run a 4.4 flat

21 reps is weak. I don't care how fast you are. If you're supposed to be a dominant athletic defensive end, you need an incredible amount of strength. End of story.

I'm surprised he didn't do more for how much of an athletic freak he is. If memory serves he did have some stamina issues in college. He might just be one of those guys with a ton of explosiveness but poor endurance.
