I agree. Not running makes me think he is hiding something. If he's hurt say it. If his added weight has slowed him down a bit that's different story. Disappointed in him or who is advising him.
Johnny Football putting down a 4.56 make Bridgewater look bad. He would probably look even worse if he ran.
Disappointed he's not running but that was from a mere personal curiosity. 1) he's obviously an agile QB with decent speed. 2) he is a Pocket passing QB after all. Whether it was a 4.5 or 4.7 I really don't think it makes a difference But It's not hard to imagine that the last minute cancelation was a call made by the agent. The biggest questions concerning Tb headed into the combine was his physical size and he answered those questions already. They may have received a lot of positive feedback from teams and decided it's not worth running the 40 because only negative can come out of it, I.e. Injury.
Ugh, another example of Bridgewater avoiding competition. He knew his 4.7 time would look bad compared to the rest of the class, so he's choosing not to run at all.
I understand top prospects sometimes choose not to throw, but is it normal to choose not to run either?
No, especially when they said in their press conference the day before that they were going to run. I guess it just got down to crunch time and he got scared.
10:17 a.m.: Teddy Bridgewater is a tier below Johnny Manziel and Blake Bortles, according to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. McGinn talked to five teams’ personnel executives, and they put Manziel, Bortles, pass rushers Jadeveon Clowney, Khalil Mack and Anthony Barr, offensive tackles Greg Robinson and Jake Matthews and wide receiver Sammy Watkins in the top eight. Bridgewater was placed in the tier of 10 players below those top guys. Based on McGinn’s column, the cornerbacks are also being overrated by the media. The top corners were placed in the third tier of 32 players. Notre Dame defensive tackle Stephon Tuitt and Florida State wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin are being underrated by the media right now. Both of those players were placed in the second tier.
Disappointed in Bridgewater. It's silly for him not to run, especially considering he's not a running quarterback in the slightest. A bad time wouldn't have hurt him, a good one would have shocked some people. If this was his agent's call, TB should be worried. Just a bad decision no matter which way you look at it. Hopefully it comes out that he suffered a minor injury or something like that; he even told the media he would be running today.
I think if he was going to run 4.7 he would have run today. I guess he is hoping his "engaging" personality wins teams over.
Well, maybe he was worried it would be slightly less than that, and didn't want an official time to get out. I could see that.
le sigh... <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>No drills today for Mr. Bridgewater. <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23NFLCombine&src=hash">#NFLCombine</a> <a href="http://t.co/D6AO0RvZU6">pic.twitter.com/D6AO0RvZU6</a></p>— NFL Network (@nflnetwork) <a href="https://twitter.com/nflnetwork/statuses/437621476225589248">February 23, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
It has to be his agents call and his agent is from Houston and his agent also works for Andre Johnson. So he does have relationships with Smith and McNair. He must have some contact with what they want to see from him. I don't get it and am disappointed in him. So I hope there is a good reason.
Like it or not this is a red flag for TB. Then again you don't know what's going on behind the scenes.
Yeah... Doesn't make any sense to me. He did meet with the Jags already and maybe he had a great meeting and they promised him they would pick him if he didn't run, Maybe he wants to stay in Florida. Maybe the Texans weren't interested in interviewing him. Maybe McNair doesn't want a black QB. Maybe he doesn't like running on Sundays. Whatever the reason I can't think of anything good. If it is Bortles instead of him I hope O'Brien is a Miracle worker.
Ok bro, you need to stop pulling out the race card. It's annoying. Tony freaking Banks played QB for the Texans at one point.
That is my biggest worry... I don't think McNair would have that train of thought If he wants to go to the Jags, get Clowney then. He would rethink the move in a quick NY minute Pocket presence under pressure is nearly impossible to fix
