No, it should play no part because we have no way of knowing what will be the situation in half a decade.

Also, how would paying Teddy top tier QB money not be "spreading yourself totally thin" but paying an OLB would be?

You draft for need. There is a reason that you are the number one pick. Because you needed a major improvement at a "needed" position.

    Rick Smith would disagree.

GM's who draft for perceived need over talent end up in trouble.

Your post reeks of an agenda

Bridgewaters football intelligence is by far his greatest attribute

    Even his detractors admit that

    Yet you dont believe?

    I smell a rat

    A. There's more than 3 QB's
    B. If he doesn't score better than the good QB's in this class, it'll say more about the guy (or by some miracle guys) who beat him than about Bridgewater as a negative. No intelligent person question's Bridgewater's brain.

I would drop my concerns over his intelligence if he posts a good Wonderlic. I'm definitely not rooting against him. I just have my concerns based upon my interpretations of his interviews and what I know about perception bias.

Clowney thinks Wonderlic is a girl he picked up in a South Carolina strip club.

You should probably dropped the biases and start thinking with a critical and open mind

It is not prudent to ignore statistically significant data and observations made by someone with pyschological education in order to try to be likeable or offend fewer people. Thinking critically is important, and it's only done when you accept truths and don't care about how your views are received. There is a famous quote about people who tell the truth having few friends.

When you say 'have an open mind' what you really mean is 'try not to offend me'. That is the opposite of thinking critically.

What you are saying is stupid. His play on the field and reports of intelligence refute the garbage that is coming out of your mouth.

Especially his play on the field

I kind of do hold Teddy's decision not to throw at the combine against him, because it goes along with other choices in his life where he's taken the easy route vs the competitive route. He doesn't seem like someone who likes competition very much, he'd rather just pick the route that will put him in the best possible light.

He was a 5 star recruit coming out of high school and could have gone to pretty much any school he wanted and even committed to Miami for a while before choosing to go with Louisville, a weak football team in a weak football conference. Why did he do this? Well he didn't want to have to compete to get playing time, he chose the school where he knew he could start right away and would look good beating up on weak teams.....to put himself in a position to be viewed in the best possible light. He did the smart thing, because he's now being talked about as a potential top pick, but it wasn't the competitive thing.

Now in the Combine, he doesn't want to compete against everyone on a neutral field for fear of looking bad, so he skips throwing in favor of only showing off his passing in a controlled environment surrounded by his own guys, again picking the scenario to showcase himself in the best possible light rather than competing.

I wonder what's going to happen in the NFL when he finally is FORCED to compete for his job? I don't like it. He's a smart guy, but does he have the competitive nature required to make it in the NFL?

Patently false. He decommitted from Miami after they fired Randy Shannon, nothing to do with competition.

I guess Luck and RG3 didn't want to look bad too right???

Stafford and Sam Bradford didn't want to look bad too right???
