I almost started this exact thread in the GARM. It's probably better it's in the Dish, for better takes

I've been wanting to start this thread in the GARM about Parsons offense vs #33

#33 is one of the best wing defenders of all time. So we need to leave that aside and only compare offense.

If we only compare offense. Chandler and #33, imso, are valid comparisons. #33 could not be stopped in the open court. Chandler can't either. The dude can take it all the way in transition at a high level. Chandler can shoot the 3 and drive.

They are so similar on offense. Not defense, though. Not close.

2010 Richard Jefferson with less strength/handles attacking the basket and explosion on the dunks.

Naw! If he was Scottie Pippen, he wouldn't have got his shot blocked at the rim by Jermaine "OLD" Neil!

I like the Sean Elliott comparison.

I think Parsons current trajectory would actually make him a rich man's Sean Elliott. Elliott was inconsistent from three (best years were when they moved the 3 pt line in I think). Parsons IMO is a better facilitator and looks to be a slightly better rebounder and defender comparing the numbers.

But they are both guys that don't have overwhelming athleticism and don't do anything great/spectacular (though I think there's a chance that CPs three point shot could become elite), yet do many things well.

...who also isn't as offensively challenged as Ariza. I don't what the Rockets were thinking trying to turn him into an offensive weapon. I'm not against penny pinching, but c'mon...
