Banana was the last cat I had before I met my significant other, who is highly allergic to them. Thank goodness, I didn't have a cat when I met her, and more to the point, she isn't allergic to dogs. That could have been a deal breaker. She would have had to go the whole allergy shot route. The dog I had when I met her was a "once in a lifetime" dog. I would never have given up The Wonder Dog. A pity. I really like cats. I like having both a cat and a dog.
Pet allergies are the worst. Glad you had your dog's back! I got one cat but I wanna get a dog too when I live in a house or get a bigger apartment. One of each is the best. banana is kind of a funky cat name haha. My cat's name is Frodo!
How common can you get diseases from cats. As someone who has grown up with different house cats since I was 1 day old, I can safely say I wasn't even aware (much less extremely concerned) about something like this. As far as personalities... cats personalities can be really affected by their early years. Some cats just suck. Some are really cool. Not sure why I clicked on this thread, after reading the OP though.
