Let him walk then and we'd have to get rid of Asik to even get him. We have cap space afterwards while being able to contend this season without any bad contracts lingering (minus Lin)
Knicks...they probably don't care for luxury tax or maybe they are lucky and can move one of big contracts. Lakers would also need him. Nash can't play and Blake is bench player. When Kobe is playing, he can play off the ball like with Harden and when Kobe would be out with injuries he can take over. I'm sure Minnesota would be much better with Lin instead of Rubio, but they are too enamored with Rubio to let him go.
I don't want to let Lin or Parsons go, can't we just trade him for Asik+pick straight up? Rather than thinking about getting Rondo (who costs more+ isn't a good fit with his bad shooting), we can just get this guy and have Parsons become the stretch PF instead of Tjones. Deng would be a good fit here as he can defend the other team's best player while still being decent on offense.

How does that make a trade unlikely? If he isn't willing to commit to an extension then the Cavs are deff. not going to lose him for nothing... they already gave up multiple picks (idiots...)
We're not. I can guarantee you that much, unless its for Klove or some other amazing player. Not for Rondo...hell no.
We should try to get Deng, not only because he can be great for us, but also because if one of the other contenders nab him, it will be terrible for us.

Deceptive Tweets are fun.... Cleveland is shopping for a first round pick PLUS $14M in salary for matching purposes. That would be two obstacles. Watch something disgusting happen like him getting dealt to Indiana for Granger or something only Cleveland's front office could make possible.
I wonder is Cleveland has called Detroit about swapping Deng for Josh Smith. With Hawes launching three's Smith could play closer to the basket where he is more productive. It fits in with Cleveland's playoffs at all costs mantra. Deng gives Detroit roster balance while giving them the option to try again this off-season in the FA market if Deng decides to move on.
