And they still have more than 10 million in cap space to play with in the next 2 hours.

Hinkie is killing it today. So glad he went to an East Coast team, and not in the West. That team is going to be hella good maybe as soon as next year.

    2nd round picks are overrated.

ehh...not if you take them for what they are.

they're guaranteed contracts. personally, with an evaluator like hinkie or morey, 3-4 2nd rounders (depending on slotting) could be jsut as effective, if not more, than a non-lottery 1st rounder.

you can try out several players without any real long-term dedication. with first rounders, you're cemented with them for at least 3 years (i believe).

As would Paul Millsap, Monta Ellis and Marc Gasol.

the amount under the min team salary is distributed evenly among the team's roster if it's not met.

philly don't have to do anything with it but it'd be a waste not to sell that cap room to other teams.

For every one of those guys, there are at least 15 second round picks that don't make an NBA team. 15 is being very conservative

    depends on the pick.

Picks like Cleveland 2nd rounders could be very sweet picks. Keep in mind the salary cap era now with the new CBA, and the value of late 1st rounders with their guaranteed contracts, and high 2nd round picks aren't that much different, and if anything teams drafting late in the 1st round might actually prefer a 2nd rounder if they feel like the talent isn't that much different which it really isn't if you look at the comparisons.

We dont know exactly what kind of picks these are that Hinkie got and the protection behind them, but on face value and seeing what Hinkie gave up (a useless for Sixers Hawes & a tiny bit of cap space they need to use anyways) Hinkie is cleaning house.

Hinkie's just raking in those 2nd rounders. He should have 9-10 2nd rounders so far in total. A majority, I think, should be valid this coming draft. I wonder how bullish he is about this coming draft.
