Good GOD, not Ariza again, that guy is just not very good, don't get fooled by one good game shooting, his handles are awful.

Parsons is twice the player Ariza is.....

Parsons is someone you hold onto and build around, if Jharden and/or Dwight weren't on this team he would be a 20ppg guy.

He is an upper echelon SF, and a great complimentary piece.

Just let this team grow - it has enough.

Wow. I'm VERY skeptical about a Rondo trade and even Asik trade, but I can easily see a Lin trade unfortunately.

I would not trade Parsons for Rondo. Heck, there aren't any plausible trades in which I'd give up our glue guy. If DM does trade him, I hope we can get him back soon. The only way I can see DM trading Parsons is if we are getting Deng in addition to Rondo. Then we're all-in this year.

Why would you say that? The Rockets will have to shell out to keep Parsons, but it's not like he wants out of here. As long as they don't lowball him, he'll be a Rocket for a long time.

If Parsons becomes a RFA and some other teams overpay him (they have to), do you match?

Sometimes, the best trades are the ones you don't do. I'm expecting Morey to stand pat and wouldn't blame him for it if it meant losing an important player.

I would rather give up two first round picks than give up Parsons. Throw in Omer Asik and Patrick Beverly/or D-Mo and we're good.

Depends on the offer. If someone gives him 4 years, $60 million, I bid Parsons a bittersweet goodbye. But if it's something like 4 years, 40-50 mil, it's a tough pill to swallow, but I go ahead and do it. He's probably gonna end up getting close to 10 mil a year though from someone.

Simply not true. Not only can the Rockets either sign him when he is restricted, they can let him go unrestricted, go over the cap and sign him for up to the max if they choose.

So Parsons does all the same things Ariza does well. Parsons is better at each of them, but they have all the same abilities. Ariza is a slasher who can get hot from 3 point land and defend.

So you're right in saying that Parsons is the better player, but Rondo+Ariza > Parsons? You'd have to be mad not to do that. Ariza plays a lot like Parsons, but with a few less points and more rebounding:

    http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/2426/trevor-ariza (40.3% from 3)

Neither has great handles in traffic. Parsons is just smarter and doesn't try to be Kobe Bryant, but he's not beating anybody and getting to the hole either.

With perhaps no name tossed around in trade rumors as much as Rajon Rondo's, word out of Boston is that he's not likely to be moved on Thursday.
Of course, "unnamed sources" will rule the day, and that's what we're dealing with here, as one says the Celtics are not close to completing any deals, and that there's been very little activity on the trade front. And another said it was "highly unlikely the team will trade Rondo." The Celtics don't have to trade Rondo and have as many as 10 first-round draft picks over the next five years they can rebuild with, along with young chips like Jeff Green, Jared Sullinger and others. Despite this Boston Globe report, teams are going to likely come at Danny Ainge with everything but the proverbial kitchen sink for Rondo this afternoon, so it would be foolish to assume he won't be moved. But as of now, it sure feels like it's unlikely to happen. Feb 20 - 8:33 AM

The only way I trade him is if we are getting Durant, P George, or Lebron back which will never happen. I am not sure why so many want Rondo when our team is just starting to develop chemistry. Parsons is a big part of that chemistry and Rondo is not worth breaking that up.

Hello everyone this is my first post i usually just read here but this trade deadline finally broke me, and i want to give my two cents and see what your opinions were..

1.I would just like to say Iam pro-rondo. Everything about him as a basketball player i love, except for his 3pt shooting and FT shooting which can be fixed/improved (like Dwights fts)

2.Many posters have already stated this, but in the playoffs your half-court execution becomes paramount, as does your half court defense, and he is a master at excelling at both

    3. As much as i hate to say it because i love me some CP.. but he is someone that you can replace on the court and rondo is not ...sometimes its just as simple as that

4.Last but certainly not least, he has won a championship before, granted both Dwight and harden have both made the finals before, but this is an intangible that can not be measured but in my eyes is very important.

Tough decision for DM with how well we've been playing ....gonna be a long 6 hours!!
