These are five straight plays in the fourth quarter. Net result 8 points and 1 assist for Rondo. He hits that 15-18 footer in the middle so well that you have to respect it. That's what he uses to free up players for assists. http://on.nba.com/1jf64gV http://on.nba.com/1jf5UX7 http://on.nba.com/1jf5jEQ http://on.nba.com/1jf5z6w http://on.nba.com/1jf69Bx Thx again, VoA
If Rondo is going my bet is still on him going somewhere besides Houston. 1. Other teams can offer more. 2. Morey would be more than willing to serve as a foil for other teams (Lakers?) to negotiate against to raise Rondos trade value.
I am losing hope for Rondo... I hope DM trade at least for Morrow , even though he is't a good defender, he is a very good shooter.
Yeah other teams can offer more but the big question is will they. If Rondo says I won't resign with your team that's a big risk for these GM's to to pull the trigger on. Could mean their job if he doesn't resign. Of course I don't know anything and I also don't think we will sign Rondo. Too much disruption for a team on the roll right now. But we might have the best offer is all I'm saying.
Rondo's on the books for 1 more year and change. It's not like he's an expiring. Teams can tell themselves three things: a.) we have a window of time to build around this guy and convince him that we can win here; b.) we'll have his bird rights when he does come unrestricted; and c.) even if he wants to leave if we feel our core is good enough now, we'll have two good chances to win with him on board. So that makes him an asset to all but the lowliest of franchises.
List of thing Chandler does that Rondo doesn't: 1. Shoot the three at a high percentage Off the court: 1. Model 2. Friendly demeanor Obviously, I'm being harsh here, but intangibles are brought by both players. Not just Parsons. People call Rondo an a-hole or whatever, but he's in Boston. This city doesn't exactly have a reputation of being a friendly town. Houston might change him some. He's tough as nails. That part is good. People being friendly everywhere might lighten him up. He's a Southern guy from Kentucky in Boston. Parsons did perform in the playoffs last year and I would expect him to raise his level once again this year. You keep your depth if you don't make too many moves, but Rondo really is special. And special players don't come on the market very frequently. I personally think it's worth a shot. It's a win-win for the Houston Rockets. Keep the team and you keep something going that's going really well. Bring in a special player and you have three guys that are all impossible to defend in their spots. Morey can't go wrong here, I just know Rondo is an SOB when it comes to defending your best players in the league and that alone is worth trading your future for. Making opposing coaches lose sleep makes me smile.
I agree but if Rondo say I do not want to play for your team and I will not ever resign with your team that certainly would make me consider how much I am willing to risk on him. Especially if I do not have a team (like the Kings and Raptors) that has real championship possibilities in the near future.
The Rockets are on pace to win 57 games, they are number three in the WC, they are almost neck and neck with the Spurs to win the division, they are the hottest team in the league, team chemistry is (except for Assik) obvious, both on and off the court, and Morey is going to risk undoing all of that by trading away Assik, Lin, and possibly Parsons for Rondo? For Rondo? Give me a break. That's a risk you simply do not take. Trade Assik, and only Assik, just because he's forcing the issue, and do not even think about messing with the starting five. Use Assik (and maybe some second round picks) to strengthen the bench, but keep all your starters, keep Lin, keep D-Mo, do not mess with your rotation guys.
Keep everyone but i don't want anyone to complain WHY we failed in the play-offs.This team can reach WCF IF Harden and Howard step up but not farther.(I am satisfied with a second round appearance)
I just want to say...after getting 3 hrs of sleep I am extremely disappointed to see that the "insiders" haven't at least weighed in. Smoothie's right, looks like a deadline where Morey makes a minor move no one has even considered, at the final hour. What a giant waste of time this has been.
