Nothing will happen until either very late tonight, or tomorrow. My guess is that it won't go down. I'd be just as happy with a minor move to get an upgrade over Garcia/Casspi. Still, a big thanks to Cyberx for sharing his info!
Don't think it's gonna happen. Asik and Lin are definitely leaving, probably of own accord....just not this season.
You ARE his mom. Theres no way in HELL he sniffs max money. No way. No one on the board besides you (his mother) thinks he will reach 14 a year. Batum got 10m a year, Ariza has 7/8 a year, and Afflalo has 7 a year. Youre so bad at this discussion stuff, go retire. Its best for business.
thanks for the info. if that's the case, i would sub garcia for smith and the same guys on my list can still be targets.
I wouldn't call Parsons a role player, Motiejunas/Casspi are role players. Parsons is a good starter, just like Leonard and West/Stephenson are good starter for their respective teams. Not a star though. Rondo, on the other hand is a star, a star just like Harden and Howard in my opinion. Also, role players have big nights all the time, not that Parsons is just a role player, but it happens every other night.
How? Cause John Stockton made a near miracle shot over Barkley, that was what confound whether we won the trade or no? Only reason we DIDN'T make it back to the Finals. Man you reach so hard you be careful may end up separating your rotar cuff. Reach for the stars.
If cyberx is an unofficial leak, which Morey allows, to either keep the fanbase engaged or informed, this is his way of saying, "don't get your hopes up. the deal is (probably) dead." Personally, I don't see a workable deal between the two teams. Boston can hold out until the end of summer for a nose-bleed price. They won't do worse than what the Rockets can plausibly put on the table at the moment.
I personally don't . He's not even a borderline all-star. Parsons is a good player but not a great player, Rondo is a great player when healthy IMO.
Parsons for 14 million should be considered the upper bound of bids on the free market. He might get it from another team.
I think you guys underestimate what other teams will pay for good talent. Parsons will make closer to the $12MM that that guy was saying rather than say $8MM. Rondo's PER is like 18.02 from last year to 17.14 or so for Parsons this year. Not that big a difference for a supposed STAR in Rondo. Dwight and Harden have PERs over 21.
Wonder where he got this from lol: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Hearing Howard isn't thrilled by prospects of RR joining HR. Not that he's opposed but not crazy about it. Different attitudes & approaches</p>— Peter Vecsey (@PeterVecsey1) <a href="https://twitter.com/PeterVecsey1/statuses/436364763346796544">February 20, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Call me stupid if you will, but if I were GM of Lakers I might bid up to 14 million per for Parsons. Up to 12 million, for sure. As a business decision. Not as a championship decision.
Do you have any factual support to this rant? For example, can you give recent examples of players on Parsons caliber and youth getting much less? If you are so certain that you understand the market on Parsons, then there has to be a basis for that, correct? I don't know what Parsons will get. But I did see Batum get $12mil back when the cap was lower. I saw Tyreke Evans get $11mil this past offseason. I saw Gordon Hayward rejecting a 4yr/$50mil(rumored) deal from Utah. And I know Parsons' agent is Dan Fegan. It would not surprise me at all that Parsons get an offer at or beyond $12mil/yr. Whether or not he's worth it? I don't know. But there's nothing in the NBA market that suggest some team won't throw that kind of money on him.
