Alot of people tend to forget that Morey has said that he def wants that 3rd star on this squad. After signing that star, the Rockets will be strapped to the cap. Morey also doesnt believe Parsons is that 3rd star yet either as seen from his recent interview. You guys fail to believe that outside the 2 NY teams, and Los Angles Lakers, not many owners are willing to pay the tax out of pocket. The tax according to the new CBA is very punitive. For instance, if the Rockets were to get a rando or love, and they would sign a max extension, they Rockets will be over the cap, and then to extend parsons that would take even more money, and now as the rules stand, for every $10million over the tax, there is a $2.50 to every dollar rate.... So if after signing Parsons to a $10million (i know it will be a little higher), that will cost the Rockets almost $30million in tax and salary for Parson, which the Rockets or any other team not named NY or LA would be willing to pay, and Parsons in the eyes of the Rockets will not be worth that much money. In conclusion, any deal that involves a 3rd star, Parson is most likely the biggest trade piece that goes out in that deal....... THERE IS NO DOUBT. For the people that think the Rockets organization owes Parsons anything, or for the people that are in love with Parsons, you guys have to hope that he becomes that 3rd star, gets paid, and stays in Houston. P.S. Rondo and Jeff Green would instantly make the Rockets serious contenders to win this year, and in the coming years. Rondo has Stockton's blood in him. Just my $0.02
Where's the leak kingdrew said was happening? Where did cyberx go after he said H&H were questioning rondo's attitude? More info pleeeeasee
I thought there was supposed to be a big leak tonight by a creditable source ? Are any Rockets not expected to play ?
Well Blake is gonna be a decent backup for Curry. Not like Jack was, but it is an improvement. Marshon Brooks stay getting bounced to different teams. Thought he was good his rookie year.
@RobMahoney: How is the reported Steve Blake trade legal? Salaries dont match, Lakers don't have TPE, and Brooks can't be traded with another player, no?
It could open up some trade possibilities for teams looking to deal with the Lakers directly or using them as a third team. I assume the Warriors used one of their trade exceptions to absorb Blake's contract. That's around half of their tax dollars cut away.
Still... Sounds like nothing much to me while I'm waiting impatiently for some big rockets news. Maybe having Blake will give GSW their push into the playoffs. Small trade is a small trade though and I only care about small trades when they concern the good guys.
