Kevin Love Downplays Interest in Playing for the Lakers

Now that he looks like a leading man—and with free agency looming as an option at the end of next season, and the Wolves not exactly killing it on the court—everyone assumes that his next big move is to Los Angeles. He’s dating actress Cody Horn, a California girl, and his Beach Boy uncle, Mike, co-wrote “California Girls.” So fess up, Kev: You’re gone, right? “People think it’s so far-fetched that I would stay in Minnesota,” he says. “And I’m not ****ting on the Lakers, but we have the better team, the better foundation. I’m having fun.” Note the present tense.

Wasn't that the same with us the last couple of years?

    1) You don't know that.
    2) Why do you want to give up our future for Courtney Lee playing 9 minutes a night (he can only play SG and Harden will get his 39), and Bass who is worse than Jones and will take away minutes from D-Mo? You know McHale won't play D-Mo anymore which will bring his morale down again.

Thank god Morey, the GM of the Rockets, not a fan on ClutchFans didn't pull the trigger on this trade back when we still needed a backup PF. We have too many players who want minutes and adding 2 role players won't make things better. Players will start complaining and bring down team morale. I'm sure this crossed Morey's mind.

Laker fans have had it too good for so long that they are delusional. Kevin said some funny **** about the lakers. Find it on hoopshype.

Im not so sure Love is as interested in LA as LA is interested in him. He said he didnt know why everyone assumed there was no chance that he returned to the Wolves, and that the Wolves had a better team and a better foundation then the Lakers

Kevin Love doesn't trust Jim Buss, however i think for us, there might be distrust in the sense that he might feel he'd be used as a tradechip for the other more awesome kevin (as i could see okc offer durant for love, to try and keep westbrook if they know durant is walking).

A trade of Gasol + Xavier Henry for Love and Barea or Shved works. If LA throws in its draft pick (unprotected), Minnesota gets salary space, a high first round pick and a shot to keep Gasol at a lower price tag. A bunch of other players could be thrown in on both sides. Not a bad deal for Minny.

The lakers can't trade their draft pick, and even if they could, its value would significantly diminish when Love drags them up to 25-30 wins.

As long as they are paying that much for old, busted Kobe, the Lakers will be irrelevant no matter who they get.

Love can barely drag the Wolves to that many wins.

They already have that many wins, problem is in the west, this year you probably need to be a 48-50 win team to even make the playoffs, whereas minnesota are more like a 40 win team.

That's a horrible deal. If the Timber wolves are going to build around Gasol, they're better off building around Love. Players like Xavier Henry are a dime a dozen and LA cannot trade this year's pick anyway
