I remember last year what I was doing when the Rockets traded Patterson for T-Rob at last year's deadline. I was taking a poop in my upstairs bathroom when I got an ESPN message saying the trade happened. Maybe if I go use the bathroom later a trade will magically happen.

The problem with a Rondo, Harden, Deng, Jones, Howard line up is the spacing would be awful. Rondo and Deng are career below average 3 pt shooters and Harden is having a rough year out there too.
Yeah but they are tanking, so why would they care? Also, Casspi's deal next year is non-guaranteed, so it would be a salary dump too.

I imagine Morey's real offer is something like Asik, TJones, Beverley, and a 2014 1st for Rondo. Beverley is somewhat redundant if you have Rondo and I've never really thought that Boston would be interested in Lin. Asik is a legit starting center, and TJones has good upside. The 2014 pick may actually impede your cap flexibility in 2014, so it makes sense to trade it away even if we weren't getting a player of Rondo's caliber. Any more and you're hurting your chances at the 2015 trade deadline or free agency.

If we acquire Rondo, I think it has been in the works for a long time. One underrated thing that people are sleeping on is the fact that Rondo has probably been working on his 3pt game throughout his rehab in anticipation of such a move. Lowry was once a below average 3pt shooter, Rondo has the same kind of ethic that Lowry has.
for that to happen the rockets would have to decline their team option on Parsons making him a restricted free agent and then more importantly the Knicks - yeah the New York Knicks would have to be under the cap to be able to offer a such contract to Parsons -- I am pretty sure that LeBron will retire before the Knicks are under the cap
Deng can defend Durant and Rondo can defend Westbrook I believe our defense would be better. Not saying they can shut these guys down but it helps give Howard and Harden an advantage.
Actually, Rondo is less valuable in a half court setting because he is a poor scorer who puts little pressure on the opposing defense.
