Yeah but DMo has way more value that Mike Dunleavy, so if the deal was for him, I'd offer one of our crappy wings like Garcia or Casspi plus a pick rather than someone who really helps the team.
I do not see the Rockets giving up Parsons, they want their 3rd star now so they can decline Parson's team option this summer and make him a RFA... I can see the Rockets Final offer something along the lines of : HOU: Asik / Lin / T-Jones / 2014 NYK 2nd Rd pick / Rockets Unprotected 2015 or 2016 1st rd pick BOS: Rondo / Bass As a Rockets fan I jump on that. I don't think Celtics are getting better offers than that. Next year at the trade deadline both Lin and Asik are quality players on expiring contracts. Both could be flipped to 2015 contenders for 1st rd picks. If Rondo is not in the plans for beyond 2015, this is the deal the Celts make.
I guess if you get Rondo on this team I would rather have a stretch 4 so give them Jones if they must have a young stud. Asik Sullinger/Jones is a great young core for them to build around in the frontcourt.
Many here have inflated a solid developing role player into a budding superstar. I think Parsons is as dreamy as anyone and would hate to see him traded but he is not a superstar nor should he be an impediment to getting a player in the class of Rondo. I trust Morey to get the best deal he can.
That's the thing, they wouldn't take one of our crappy wing guys for a serviceable rotation guy like Dunleavy, they'd basically be taking a step back with no assets attained. Gotta give some to get some.
