    lol. Famous? Nah.
I get a random shout outs periodically from odd and unanticipated places, it was probably on 24/7 comedy radio. They seem to like my stuff there. I'm out of the clubs pretty much now and committed to the cruise ships and my writing. It's a great job. I'm working on a show that has Kevin Nealon's interest, so we'll see!
    Thanks for the attention. ;)

I'm not seeing a way Deng AND Rondo can happen for Houston, to be honest.

That's your opinion some like myself see rondo as a major piece and a legit top 5 pg when healthy. IMO Parsons while a nice player is nothing special and the advanced stats point to this with league avg per 36 min basis. He is a good shooter and if he player great defense he would be a no brainer keeper and borderline allstar. But if your thinking parsons is a third star then your kidding yourself. Morey is not going to commit 40+
Mil to parsons he doesn't see him as the third best player in a championship team he's even stated so.

Stop it. Philly is not trading a top 12 pick for the privilege of paying Asik 15 million dollars next year. Seriously...

Here is the problem the Celts have. There is a very limited market for Rondo since he won't resign with teams that suck. You look at all the playoff teams in the West that actually need a PG then the market significantly shrinks.

    OKC - out
    SA - out
    Houston - in
    LAC - out
    Portland - out
Phx - out (and the only team in the league that can easily give 2 first round picks)
    GS - out
Dallas - possible but not looking

Who else can Ainge trade realistically Rondo to??

Go find some more internet sources. I hear the Bobcats forum has some too.

Here is how I would rank them:

    1. LeBron
    2. Durant
    3. George
    4. Melo
    5. Parsons

Sure there is a talent drop off between 4 and 5, but Parsons makes less than a 20th of what Melo makes. On average he makes less than a 16th of what all of these players will make this year and next.

Head to head vs Carmelo Anthony Chandler shoots 63.4% from the field while only averaging 0.7 turnovers compared to Carmelo's 4.0. He also steals the ball 3 times and averages 23.3 points.

I'm not saying I would rather have Parsons, but it's not as far as you guys think it is.

Haven't seen much of anything about Rockets and specific players other than Dunleavy and Rondo. However, its been noted that the Rockets are working the phones, and probably very active.... However should that be a surprise to anyone?

I'd say since the Rockets had talks with Cleveland before the self imposed December deadline, and its pretty obvious that Cleveland wasn't quite ready to give up and now they sure as hell are, its probably pretty easy to pick the phone and pick up talks right where they left off. This time Deng makes more sense than Varejao to discuss.

It wouldn't since Lowry is no longer on the block.

    Not nearly enough 3-pt shooting.

Maybe by using Bostons trade exceptions from the Pierce($10m) and Lee($2m) trades? Not sure how it exactly works though.

I agree, very tough. But the question I keep coming back to is whether the team as is can get to the finals. My answer is possible, but unlikely. If Morey ask this question and gets the same answer, then he may feel compelled to roll the dice one more time in the context of a major move (smaller moves are on the table anytime in any situation).

Then when you ask: "What is Houston strengths and weaknesses", an over simplification would be offense and defense. Deng/Rondo would definitely be a defensive upgrade over CP/Lin. Would offensive or chemistry suffer? Potentially, yes. But I think becoming a better defensive team is a mandate for a trip to the finals. Deng/Rondo may not be the only avenue to this end. But it seems these pieces are whats on the plate (potentially) at the moment.

Celts fans up in arms about this - most don't want to give up Rondo for Parsons and Asik or Parsons and Lin (plus pick(s) - some are more ok with Parsons and Bev somehow. Delusions are nice, aren't they.

Agree, hopefully Dmorey does not deal Parsons it just feels wrong for what he has done for this organization and how much he helped recruiting D12 here.
Ideally you do not want to deal Harden, CP25, and D12 everybody else should be for sale imo

I think that code from basketball reference glitched the last page.

I won't embed stats from them anymore. My mistake.

It means that Morey has a hole in his back pocket and Parsons could slip out at any moment.

I have a comedic-ish adventure doc I'm working on right now. I think you might like it. Everyone else who's seen the progress does.

The Celtics would insist Chandler Parsons is included in the deal. It's important to remember "interest" isn't really a very encouraging term on getting a deal done. A team with no shot of getting Rondo probably has interest in acquiring him because he's an elite passing point guard. The Rockets do have some pieces and general managers Danny Ainge and Daryl Morey are close to each other, but this deal does seem unlikely to say the least. Feb 19 - 3:23 PM
