Dude, Rondo is a 4x NBA all-star, 2x defensive first team, 2x defensive second team, 2x NBA assist leader, league leader in steals, etc. Rondo is a legit player. Asik and a first rounder for Rondo is an absolute steal.
Was thinking the same thing. Do you think after working so hard on courting D12, that DM would risk pissing off his new star by trading his buddy? I would rather ship Deng to them, as I think he is expiring at the end of the year...which gives them more cap flexibility.
I don't think Morey moves Parsons. I think Morey caves and moves Jones with Asik/Lin. And I think it's possible we wind up with both Rondo and Deng. Aski/Lin/Jones/picks/minimum salaries out, Rondo/Deng in, Boston sends Jeff Green to Cleveland. Cleveland is up a creek without a paddle right now with Deng. They will NOT get anything close to what value they gave out in picks. I think the picks are gone. I think they're stuck with taking on a decent player on a mediocre contract (like Green) and possibly a high second rounder or possibly a player on a rookie deal....at most.
Parsons, Lin, and Asik get you Rondo. Rondo, Harden, Deng, Jones, Howard That would be nasty. I would be happier with a Rondo Harden Parsons Deng Howard EW EW EW. That's a title contender.
