Knicks Interested In Trading For Jeremy Lin http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/232023/Knicks-Interested-In-Trading-For-Jeremy-Lin Looks like you were right rogower though I still believe Melo has veto power & also the Knicks are going to try to offer J.R. Smith for Lin.
Legit question Answer: 1. Because Hawes is a big 7-footer than can shoot the 3 and get it off against practically any defender. This will be a huge benefit when we get to the playoffs and we are having to run half-court offensive sets instead just flying up and down the floor. Neither DMo nor TJones can effectively spread the floor against playoff style half-court defenses. 2. Because Hawes has the size to play in big defensive sets alongside Dwight when we are playing big teams like the clippers or Spurs and they are eating us up with interior size. 3. Because offensively Hawes can work in conjunction with either TJones or DMo coming off the bench. Both DMo and TJones are best suited working offensively in the paint. Hence Hawes can constantly spread the floor, whether it is with Dwight or with Jones/DMo off the bench. 4. Because defensively Hawes is more of an anchor and rebounder than athletic defender. He is strong where Jones is weak and Jones is strong where he is weak defensively. Hawes may not be a long-term solution here but he'd be a huge help in the playoffs.
Rockets trade: Jeremy Lin, Omer Asik, Terrance Jones, one future first, one future second Rockets receive: Rajon Rondo, Brandon Bass, Beno Udrih Knicks trade: Iman Shumpert, Beno Udrih Knicks receive: Jeremy Lin Celtics trade: Rajon Rondo, Brandon Bass Celtics receive: Omer Asik, Terrance Jones, Iman Shumpert, future first, future second
Rockets are 36-17 and u guys still want to trade some of our key players? Thats crazy. You guys are just...trade happy. I would rather ride it out with the current roster and see what they can do in the playoff.
Why not just trade Parsons, Jones, Asik, and a pick to the Wolves for Love? They can flip Asik to someone else for another pick with an expiring deal. Is anyone going to offer them anything better than Parson, Jones, and a couple of picks? PG: Beverley/Lin/Brooks SG: Harden/Garcia SF: Casspi/Covington/Brewer PF: Love/Motiejunas C: Howard/Smith/Camby?
I'm sure this trade has been posted more then once but it makes sense. Lin, Jones and multiple draft picks to Boston Asik to Philadelphia, New Orleans 14' 1st Rd pick to Boston Rondo and Bass to Houston Rondo/Beverley Harden/Garcia Parsons/Casspi Bass/Motiejunas Howard/Motiejunas Very weak bench outside of Beverly, im sure there would be some signings or minor trades after to help. Having Rondo, Harden, Parsons and Howard would be heavenly.
I think next year close to the trade deadline you can net love for parsons jones and asik, though I feel you can replace asik with Lin, and a pick. Lin would probably play better under adelmans system. It would depend on parsons contract situation though.
Love is a California boy who went to UCLA. He will probably want to go back home. The Lakers will have tons of cap room and are looking for a major star to rebuild their franchise post-Kobe.
Close your eyes and imagine this homer trade Spoiler Send Asik to Philly to get that NOLA 1st rder and flip it with our 1st rder to Jazz DMo + our 2nd rder for Evan Turner Lin + 2 1st rd picks + whatever for Hayward + Marvin Williams Bev/AB/ Harden/Garcia Hayward/Turner/Casspi Parsons/Williams Howard/TJones/Smith Best part is that we maintain cap flexibility with all these 1 yr deals + have the ability to offer Hayward a lucrative deal if he works out.
This may be a silly question, but I felt like it didn't deserve a thread. Why do teams make trades on the trade deadline? Why not before?
