Atlanta has a nice 1st rounder with rights to swap with Brooklyn. Maybe Asik and Jones for Millsap and the 1st? #dreaming
I actually think Boston gets maximum value for Rondo if they move him before Thursday, and not after. Teams will give up a lot more for Rondo if they know they're getting a chance to make a run for two years with him instead of one. I think Rondo gets dealt by Thursday or Boston plans to lock him up and rebuild around him. Frankly that might just be the best move for Boston.
Lmao. You're right, Rondo isn't known for his offensive or defensive prowess. He's basically Austin Rivers..
If the rockets are dead set on getting a pg then why not go after Lowry? At this point in their careers, Lowry is better than post acl injury rondo. Lowry is the better scorer, shooter and is a great defender. Gives this team toughness as well.
What I find interesting today and yesterday is that Rondo's agent or whomever has been pretty adamant about going public about which teams he wouldn't resign with after next year. That tells me quite a bit.... which is he might have a destination in mind that he is pushing ownership to trade him to, and Houston would be a pretty obvious one that has a hole at the starting PG spot.
That is where you may be able to flip Jones and a future Rockets pick for a mid lottery pick.... Rondo isn't ideal for Houston, but if you keep Parsons, you count on talent trumping fit... Howard/?/Parsons/Harden/Rondo is a damn good starting 5
So if this is true, Asik to Philadelphia for the New Orleans first RD pick would be perfect, if Philly would acept that. Although the pick isn't completely un-procteded (top 5 procteded until 2019) but it would probably be enough.
Never this particular one before but it is time. Stop being a homer. You trade whoever you have to except Howard/Harden to get Rondo.
Exactly. Rondo is a terrible fit on this team. Time to make a playoff push not wait for team to adjust to rondos game. Rondo cannot shoot the 3 or get to the ft line, both big part of our offense.
Pretty sure that's the same guy who said Lin > Rondo, but Klay Thompson and a host of other random-but-comparable guys all > Harden.
I think Ujiri is caught between a rock and a hard place with ownership, the locker room, and the fans. They have a REAL shot at a 2nd round playoff campaign because of the Rudy Gay trade for actual good role players & giving more shots to good players. If you trade away arguably their best player in a season that is been so up for a team that has been so down for the past decade or so, you are setting yourself up for extreme criticism. Plus Lowry's market this Summer might not be that good at all with so few PG positions open for the taking in free agency, so few dollars left to get with teams clearing cap to go into the Summer of Kevin Love which could lead to Toronto getting a really good deal on Lowry this Summer which would be a pretty good asset for Ujiri for future trades (see Millsap in Atlanta). -The market for a guy like Lowry, Millsap, or players alike ALWAYS improves during the season when teams feel like they are one player away from contending. They just aren't that sexy of players to acquire in the offseason, but during the season when you realize how good they are, their value goes up. If I'm Ujiri, I'm keeping Lowry despite what the Rockets could give -(downgrade & more expense in Lin) -Duplication, balloon payment, & growth stunt for Jonas V. in Asik
