CyberX, not sure if you can tell us this but: 1) how do you think morey's current offer compares to other offers on the table? do we know of any offers that the celtics got besides the kings which fell apart? 2) any updates on asik? phily? boston? third team? 3) any sort of under the radar deals in the works? gary neal? dunleavy? someone we may not have heard a rumor of yet? i'm not asking/expecting you to answer all of those, but any info would be much appreciated!
Expand please, what are you hearing? Any particular players on our side? Is rondo an asset to acquire love?
I'm interested in a Lin/Asik/1st round pick for Rondo/Bass swap, but it does leave us with a small problem-- backcourt shooting. Rondo isn't a great shooter. Beverly is Beverly. The trade also doesn't help net a 3 & D guy to back up Harden. We'd have a great starting unit & either Jones or Bass would be a great guy coming off the bench, but I wonder what other move Morey could make to address backcourt depth then.
Morey hasn't leaked this, cyber isn't media he is on the agent side and has houston connections, seriously just drop it.
One last post before I sign off cfans for the day...lots to do...so little time. I would love to keep refreshing, but man lost so much study time.... Anyways as I was ranting about...If the Rockets were able to make the deal for Rondo plus PF in exchange for Asik, Lin, and/or Parsons, the Rockets would do it. First of all...Rondo is a terrific PG that when healthy is a top 3 PG. Secondly, for the Rockets, they get to relieve salary stress that Lin and Asik has currently on this team. Finally, its because the trade makes sense for all the parties involved. The Celtics get something of legit value for Rondo, and the Rockets have pieces that allow them to actually contend for the title this year itself. As the pieces continue to be collected, the Rockets have a chance to return to the promised land. But it will all be on the players...they will have to get the job done. Its time for Red Nation to take back the crown...and help quell the madness from a new generation of rabid die hard Rockets fans who have never seen the Dream in action and the true reason for this message board. Go Rockets!!!!
just a tidbit...ESPN gets their news from tons of agents and reporter connections. Not a lot of folks from Bristol here in Houston. People with more ties in this region will get bigger scoops. cyberx has a legit link to the Houston sports scene...and you keep making your self sound bad. Not every source ever pans out, but a few people get it right. Cyber has proven to be one of them...
I think it was during the all star break that David Aldridge said that there will be a block buster trade come trade deadline
