Rondo can take over games without scoring. His defense and playmaking ability would push Houston closer to a chip. But the only negative is Rondos health. He hasnt played a full season in awhile.
Any lineup with Casspi in it, is a lineup with a glaring weakness and hoping that a D leaguer is going to fix your SF deficiency is wishful thinking at best. Also, who are you planning to trade away to do this? Do you just plan on having no bench whatsoever?
i agree. however, given that post, i wonder if we switch jones to the 3 and plug in another 4--say bass, dmo, etc. would be interesting to see jones move to the 3. he may be a tad too slow to guard the 3, but who knows? he could make up for it w/ length
That's fine but could you fathom a possibility that the ball is in harden's hand so much is because we don't have a competent point guard that can move the ball? If so, then the possibility of bringing in a point guard that can rein in the offense and get harden better shots is a change the team would definitely need to make.
Well it does depend who we'd be shipping out, if we managed to get Rondo without losing DMo, Jones, and Parsons, I wouldn't be as against it, but I honestly think we are a better team without a Rondo deal at all. The team isn't complete, but Rondo isn't anyone that is going to help us improve.
According to Ric Bucher, looks like Boston is willing to take back Asik and Lin for Rondo but they also want an unprotected first round pick. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1964598-nba-trade-deadline-deals-ric-bucher-wants-to-see-happen
Driving on my home from work I really thought about this parsons situation. These are questions morey & staff are asking. 1. Does morey know les is not going to pay him already ? 2. Does he have more value now or next year at deadline as an expiring when teams know he's about to be a free agent ? 3. Who makes us a better playoff team rondo PG or SF parsons ? 4. Both expire 2015 we remain flexible. 5. Would morey rather want parsons bird rights or rondos to pay $10-15mill to & still be able to chase 3rd star? 6. Parsons is the glue now because bev starts and we need another playmaker besides harden. Will parsons playmaking skills still be needed when you bring in an playoff experience ball dominate TRUE PG ? 7. Will more of a lockdown 3&D guy be needed at the 3 in playoffs ? 8. Parson 40% from 3, How has parsons D been lately, is he going to slow down Durant, Crawford, George, lebron in the playoffs ?
Sure, so long as that point guard can play off the ball as well, but if that point guard shoots like Dwight Howard, I say pass.
Like a bum on a baloney sandwich. Speaking of "baloney", Asik and Lin and we'd get Rondo (and whatever)? And an unprotected first. More to it than that. Has to be. Of course, Ainge can flip one of those contracts with picks and up to $3.2 million in the offseason for a player he actually wants. But ownership taking on that much money?
I think Lin would be a great fit in Boston. Young bright coach and a team devoid of any stars or expectations. It'd almost be like the Lin's situation with the Rockets pre-Harden trade, except Lin's a much better player now and capable of taking an Eastern team to the playoffs in the coming years. Plus, there's the Harvard connection which would give him a natural following with the home crowd.
If it is true, I would definitely make the deal. We have our own first round pick, might as well trade it along with both Asik and Lin. We also would probably have to take either Green or Bass back along with Rondo to make the salaries work.
