People need to calm down. Why give up two first when a little patience will get a star in 2015? Same with Parsons. The Rockets should try to dump Assik and try to pick up a couple of utility players to reinforce the bench. Keep Parsons, keep their picks, keep Jones, and yes - keep Lin. Think tweaks not major shake up.

Interesting Philly has to add 5.1 mil to its payroll to meet the salary floor.

I'm not expecting anything close to a Splash!

I like where this team is right now.

There's no penalty for being under. If Philly's cap situation stays the same after a set date all the players on their roster get a raise for this year.

What they will probably try to do is sell that 5.1 mil of cap room.

    yes there is:
From Larry Coons page: If a team doesn't meet its minimum payroll it is surcharged at the end of the season for the shortfall. That money is distributed among the players on that team.

    2013-14 90% of the cap $52.811 million

    http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm

and you can't just give players raises

You need to swap Rondo and Bev... Or stagger Rondo and harden 's minute. And this is not getting us closer to a champaign. Morey need a 3rd super star, and Rondo is not of that caliber.

[rquoter]Houston Rockets: Center Omer Asik has been asking for a trade since Dwight Howard arrived via free agency last summer, but a person with knowledge of his situation said it's unlikely he will be dealt before the deadline. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of the talks.

The Milwaukee Bucks may be a longshot option for Asik, as they have the sort of starter-caliber power forward that the Rockets covet in the disgruntled Ersan Ilyasova. But as has been the case for months now, the final year of Asik's deal in which he'll be paid approximately $15 million for the 2014-15 season is a major obstacle to any deal.[/rquoter]

    Translation:

I'm the Bucks GM and I would love to trade you Ilyasova for Asik but damn Morey.... I'm not giving you my lottery pick this year.

and Joel Freeland is out 1-2 months. So they could really use a big man. Maybe they'll jump into the non-existent Asik sweepstakes

    Sorry if posted earlier

With the NBA trade deadline now just over 24 hours away, it’s starting to be crunch time for teams who want to make moves or want to sell off players. The Houston Rockets are looking to fall into the latter category and sell off Omer Asik, despite the fact that they’re not technically sellers by definition in the market.

We heard from Ken Berger earlier on Tuesday that the Rockets hard revisited Omer Asik trade talks with the Philadelphia 76ers and now it appears are the most likely spot for the Turkish center to land.

I like how one story says Philly is "emerging" as a leading destination for Asik. @Sixers have been the most likely spot for months.

Sixers GM Sam Hinkie understands Asik's value like few others do, having been part of bringing him to Houston in the first place.

Overlooking the throwing stones nature of the tweet, it does remind us that the 76ers were in talks to acquire Asik back in December before talks fell through. The only hang up is the Rockets wanting what the Sixers seem to be looking to stockpile — draft picks.

Still, the 76ers are $11 million under the salary cap and could acquire Asik without sending out any of their trade chips in the process.

I don't know if the "rumours" (rumors? American spelling, British spelling?) of Omer Asik to Philadelphia carry any water. Certainly Hinkie does know Omer's value; and who better to lure over Furkan Adelmir (and tutor in both the game and cultural adjustments) than Omer?

If Omer should wind up in Boston or Philly, I think part of his "rehab" was simply to stay healthy, stay away from the team with his attitude, and not join his new team so soon that he would help them win games. Considering both teams are in tankapalooza.

The only reason why Philly would want Asik is probably because of Noel

I read his Body is fragile and he is stil rehabing,so if you bring Asik Noel can still rehab and learn some things from Omer

My money is Asik ends up a Laker and we get Gasol.

    I can live with that.
