i really like this deal, but i don't think there's enough in there for Philly to give up the NO 1st rounder.
A healthy center that can rebound, block shots and stretch the floor by shooting 40% from 3... yuck. Nevah! His +/- numbers really are awful, but you can't think of one way to use a stretch center?
1. What did cyberx say that was so special? His post was after that article came out about Asik talks being renewed. 2. Did you guys read the article? Hinke is not interested in trading a number one for Asik. Logically speaking it doesn't make sense either
imagine: Asik for Hawes and protected 1st Philly 1st, Rockets 1st, Lin, Dmo, Canaan/or whatever young piece for Rondo Dwight/Hawes Jones Parsons Harden Rondo/Beverly
1. He has kept everyone updated throughout this entire fiasco...and has proven to be a reliable source. 2. Yup. But he could conceivably receive a first round pick back in a trade, in the form of a future pick or a late pick in 2014. In other words, they'd trade down ~13 spots and get Asik. Not a bad idea.
Very well. He has played in ten games and has almost had four double-doubles already. He's not up to full speed yet, and still isn't playing in back-to-backs, but he's very, very close. By the end of the month or early March he'll play in back-to-backs, and I would expect him to be 100 percent healthy by then. Put it this way, he's far ahead of schedule. I never expected him to recover this quickly.
Sources: Rockets exploring Asik trade scenarios again. http://t.co/fiTtXo06MA maybe you know more than the report then ??? And this is still with turner & hawes on their roster I think. That info I posted was straight from the report not my opinion.
with the protection on that pick I would imagine that they would be ok NO's record so far has been that they are in the 11 spot at the moment. If that trend stays true they are probably looking around the 9-11 range. The major players in this draft is in the top 6-7. Noel is coming back next season but we have no idea how ready he can be - they may run twin towers or Asik starts and Noel comes off the bench to start his career and build him up that way. Boston would still save money in this deal - Rondo and Bass are owed a total of 36 million over the rest of this season and next season. -- they would be just taking back Lin who is owed 20 million this season and next season - D'Mo who is under 4 million. Also lets not forget Lin would be a instant fan favorite again with his Harvard ties in the Boston area. IMO Rondo may have soured on the Boston fans with the drama between him, Allen and Rivers -- and factor in he has been out with his ACL injury for a while.
