If rondo trade doesn’t go through expect morey to do option 2.
Option 2: keep the team in chase of WCF but try to move lin + asik contracts for expiring contracts to remain flexible for this summer.

Random last minute deal if rondos stays in boston to be on lookout for.

    Celtics in : asik
Rockets in : humpries “expiring” + 1st or 2nd round pick

    Makes sense.

I can easily see how "won’t trade reserve Jeremy Lin due to the scoring value he brings" can be mistaken for "Actively shopping". I mean they sound exactly a like!

What does it mean if he isn't traded?

Obviously if Lin is traded it would be for someone productive, right? I can't see that they are going to trade Lin just to get rid of his salary.

    Any thoughts?

    This screams:

Lets go find more assets to send to Boston so we don't have to give up Parsons.

who would have thought the poison pill backfired?

Can't blame Morey too much though. Harden (and then Dwight) were not on the radar at the time.

I can see Lin as a primary option putting up All-star type stats (sans turnovers) for a bad-to-lower seed playoff team. It could totally work out great in certain markets where contending is a pipe dream anyways.

Morey looking to move Lin was a given when Bev started over him at the beginning of the year. A team usually does not bench a starter they want to keep long terms aside from health concerns.

I think LOFs would like Lin to be traded or sign up with a bottom dwelling team

the more the nobody teammates the better

I just love underdog team stories

there's a max amount of cash teams can include every year, and it's definitely less than $7million. Something like $3M, and that's total, not per transaction. Also that money doesn't offset cap considerations.

Sure nets wish they would’ve paid both him & asik that when they had the chance. Now they are looking a jack + jordan hill ($3.7mill expiring) which they have to pay ($17mill) for luxury tax for basically less than 30games & playoffs.

Cap space hit is only eight million.

    Does it really matter?

The owners are billionaires, they can pay if they want him on their team.

I swear CF b**** all the time about the poison pill.

But his cap hit is only eight million.

If you wanna go there, we are only paying him five million this year.

They are NOT trading Lin. I agree with Clutch, Morey is determining his current market value - seeing what other teams will pay so he doesn't pay too much to extend him on the next contract.

People are paid to read tweets live on TV. Why not to read online forums?
