I always thught Rondo is overrated point-guard since Celtics had great catch&shoot players. And since we don't have any, Parsons is better option.

The "Alien" comments are just ridiculous hate and I would say full out racialism. I know this board is weary of what is directed at Lin and to some extent Yao. But there are snipe comments that are foregone directed at black people in subtle ways that are never really denounced. There were a couple of Steve Francis threads with posted pics of a unrelated person with a crack pipe that just screams an offensive stereo-type when it is assumed that crack was the particular substance abuse involved yet it was actually alcohol related. I hope the mods clean up such overt posts of hate someday.

This. It's a BIG risk.Rondo has not been fully healthy for a long time. Why would you trade away a young and still improving guy for a big question mark?

Even when he's healthy, I'd still say Rondo is not a good fit. Some people say that Rondo would finally take the ball out of Harden's hand. Is that a good thing? Talk about double standard. People say Harden is the best offensive SG with the ball in his hand. All of a sudden you want Harden to give the ball to Rondo who defenders just sag off and dare him to shoot?

Like what rondo can do, except the shooting part, but Parsons is on his way up, improving yearly,...mm what a predicament?
    Keep Parsons!

Would go down as one of the stupidest trades in NBA history. If we trade Parsons for Rondo, we don't deserve to win a championship.

Rondo is never going to be the same player. On top of that, there are not enough outside shooters on this team to make a player like Rondo effective.

Take away Parsons and you will see this team drop in seeding and struggle in the first round.

I'm a firm believer this team would be awesome if Harden didn't have to play PG. Harden isn't Lebron. He's a good playmaker, but he isn't Lebron.

Cough Lamar Odem Cough. When did Steve Nash hit the crack pipe? That's right. Stereotypes are not racism and an Alien is not a race. Calm yourself.

This happens every trade deadline. It's called overvaluing our players. Remember when some posters were saying they'd take Asik over Howard any day of the week?

I don't know if Parsons is in the deal or not but he certainly shouldn't stop us from getting Rondo. Remember, we don't even know if we can pay Parsons on the future. The only fear I have about trading Parsons is that it might make Howard pissy. If Howard is fine with it and Morey thinks it's the way to go then let's do it.

This could all be smoke and mirrors anyway.

Y'all used to drive me crazy. Now I just laugh. Rondo is better than Parsons. Simple as that. Parsons' value will plummet the moment he signs his next contract.

You guys fall in love too easy... "ohhhh nooooo, don't trade Rafer for a 3rd string PG. Ohhhhhhh noooo, don't trade Landry."

You folks wouldn't last as NFL fans, where good players get cut like meat every offseason.

It's not about value. It's about fit. There is only one ball to go around and Rondo needs it too much because of the way he balls.

Rondo would be a terrible fit with the Rockets. We already have two superstars. We don't need another one unless he can play off the ball... which Rondo can't. Period.

Fit is just an excuse for people who don't like Rondo. Players learn to play together. Why should our PG have to play off the ball?

Because neither Harden nor Howard would be happy not getting regular touches to create their own shots, especially given Rondo's reputation as a locker room cancer.

if we trade parsons, i'm no longer watching*. I mean it be one thing if we'd be getting back durant or an 32 year old Drexler. but we're talking about rondo. He has been getting abused defensively in Boston because why? Garnett and his huge arms and even big baby who would show hard on PnRs are no longer there to disrupt. Nothing is going to change defensively here because the only bigs who are disciplined at defending that set are The Malcontent Turkey and Demo.

So what will Rondo provide? I love that rondo plays team ball but the beard audibles to sticky situation on his own merit. That's still going to happen if Rondo is here. Will make for an interesting locker room.

    Keep chandler or else!

*will stop watching for like 2 quarters.

I know and understand that a lot of people will think it is stupid, but I would take Parsons easily.

When Parsons gets his contract extension, he should be in the range of 9-10 million. Rondo is already making 13.
Rondo has not been as good of a player recently. Maybe it has been coming off of the injury. Maybe it has been not playing with Allen, Pierce and Garnett. I don't know.

I know that Rondo has been a better player in the past, but Parsons is 2 years younger, makes less money (both now and most likely in the future, although that is hard to tell for sure), fills a bigger hole in our roster and fits our team better.

Rondo is good at defense. We have a defensive PG in Beverley.
He is good at playmaking, which we have in Harden.

I understand that Morey wants a third star, but, IMHO- Rondo fills that 'star' role, but not really any other role of need for our team.

    You guys......

    You folks.....

Is code for: Those who disagree with my opinion.

Which btw - I do, Parsons is a LOT more valuable than it seems you give him credit for, how many SFs shoot 50+% and 40% from 3pt land and handle the ball?

They do not grow on trees, for fun, please go find the last Rocket small forward who did this......and get back to me.

Please notice that the only 2 in the NBA currently doing that are Durant and Parsons.

Rondo is a free agent after 2015. Seems to me that the Celtics are likely to move him sooner rather than later. We should just wait until his value drops before trying to acquire him.
