But but but those other guys you listed as floor generals didn't win championships. And and and Phil Jackson called him the player of the game, after losing in the Finals to him. But but but, nevermind, you ARE ForTheWin afterall and passing is over-rated because Vazquez gets 4 assists per game and that's the same as 9. Only scoring matters. Rebounds are stupid. -Signed Jason Kidd (Champion) You'll never be able to erase that word, Champion
To Doc Rocket's tweet, I don't like the extra year of length on Ersan's contract, but I actually think the contract itself is fair value. He would really be perfect for our team. A 6'10" big who rebounds at a high rate and shoots 40% from 3? Plus he at least tries on defense. People point to this years numbers but I point to the previous two. I don't think he's taken a step back at 26. He's been injured and John ?Henson has been eating into his minutes. The team is crashing and burning; that's not Ersan's fault. Milsap would also be an excellent option, but Ferry has so far revealed himself to be a tough negotiator.
Keep Lin for chemistry & just get BASS from celtics, him & rondo already have playoff chemistry, him & rondo both expire 2015 so if things don't work out we remain flexible, ersan until 2016 is a gamble hasn't been a knock down shooter like bass has this season & doesn't bring toughness like bass. Bass is a solid matchup for ibaka or girffen
On Ersan, only $400k of the last year's $8.4 mil is guaranteed. So you can cut him for basically no penalty if need be.
Cyberx and the others insiders will make us watching Video of Rondo all day and in the end nothing will happen. In Morey we trust.
Guys I would calm down about parsons, morey probably had to mention him when kings were still in race like cybrex said, KINGS were trying to give up so much. Now that reports came out few hours later from spears that RONDO didn't want to go to kings and that deal died. It put us in a better situation, now morey probably just needs to get a 3rd team involved to wing a extra pick for Boston without giving up parsons.
Is this supposed to pass for an argument? A playoff series in which Rondo wasn't even one of the top 6 players on the floor. I mean, Derek Fisher has more rings than Nash, too. Was he better than Nash? Hell, he also had a big game in the Finals against the Celtics. Apparently that's all it takes, one good game. Vasquez averaged 9 assists last year, by the way. Oh and four rebounds.
So what brings you to the best basketball forum on the planet? I hope you came here to learn something about basketball. And Derek Fisher, although I hate him, was a fantastic playoff performer. Steve Nash, not so much. He's more the regular season type. Awesome offensive player, MVP, but not the guy I want to take to the playoffs with me.
All this discussion about Parsons for Rondo is ridiculous because there is no way in which a trade with those two being the major players would ever happen. It would have to be a lot more complex, one in which we can't even judge right now. We are not mostly just trading a SF away to get another PG. LOGIC people. jesus.
Don't think Lin would be here if Rondo is here though. Would he back up Harden and Bev backup Rondo? I think Lin would go to Boston with the trade possibly. The roster would be wayyy too many pgs
As you already know, "Sometimes you have to go south to get on the road north." I love CP25 as much as anyone, but I am guessing that from DM’s perspective, there is a much better chance of landing Kevin Durant with a Rockets lineup of DH, JH & Rondo than with DH, JH & CP. The fact that Rondo is not looking to score is a plus in this regards. It may be as simple as that. We all know that DM has a knack for finding late first round gems that can fill in any gaps—aka Parsons, PPat, TJones, and PB type players. Heck, there is even Sergio Lull waiting in the weeds to come over and fill in CP25 “type” role—although he is only 6’-4”. Also, I am sure Les will not mind going into the heavy luxury tax realm for big 4 lineup—or so it has been claimed over the years. We would be the Miami Heat of the West for many years and would not care what other teams were doing for about the next 6 years. We would be the BAR--that other teams would measure themselves against.
Yeah, the guy who averaged 20 points on 60%TS, 11 assists and 4 rebounds in the postseason over his Phoenix career wasn't the playoff performer that Derek Fisher was. Can you bring something more than pablum and "heart, grit, rings" nonsense to the table or is this all there is to you?
damn, thats like 2012 rockets, i would watch the hell out of that team. run and gun linsanity, would that work without harden? or even more ball movements and gambles and highlight reel slicing and dishing. might not be champion, but they'll get in playoffs in the east easily, plus bostons draft picks are ridiculous...oh my, sounds like fun..
This is, of course, just my opinion, but that never stopped me. I start Lin in a heartbeat and I definitely don't trade him either, unless you truly don't believe in him at all. So, Lin guards SGs fairly well. He's a handsy player and his speed bothers 2s. Knowing that, I start him there. His offense should be fine as well if he takes Chandler's role. Elbow/Corner guy that cuts to the lane when it's open and hits spot up 3s. Easy job. Harden is easily long and strong enough to guard 3s, so he defends there. Big problem, now our rebounding is even worse. Not really, Rondo is a solid solid rebounder, Jeremy is not bad and Chandler was nothing to write home about in the rebounding department. Who starts at the 4? Terrence Jones. You give Boston everything they want for Rondo, but you try your best to keep a guy that is playing well, but hasn't even gotten close to polished. Keep Lin if you can, Harden, Dwight, and TJones for sure and hope your weakened bench can pitch in and do what the missing folks were doing. If we can keep Covington out of the talks, he will be a serviceable SF backup to Harden and don't forget TJones knows plenty about playing SF.
