Rondo's 3 actually looks respectable from what i've seen since he came back, he's pretty horrid near the rim though

I agree they turned out alright, but are any of them better than Rondo?

+1. Why?!?! Bucks isn't that crazy... or are they? They're gunning for the lottery last time I've heard. I think as a rebuilding team, they might be crazier than we think.

I'm not overly wedded to picks, for the record.

For example, in the win-now mode for next 3 or 4 years, Morey certainly could pitch a few 1sts for the right players, and really doesn't need rookies to develop (and who often do not fill the remaining holes that a contender has, having been drafted "on best player available" basis irrespective of position).

But 1sts are a real commodity that give enormous flexibility, and make so many of these favorable dynamics, because they can be converted at any time into other asset.

If the Bucks are dealing Ilyasova's 4 year contract to Houston it's either for Lin or Asik.

I doubt they'd want Asik with their crowded frontcourt and the fact that they will be paying Sanders $11 million per year over the next 4 years.

There's no point to getting Rondo, I don't think he's a big upgrade to Lin to lose assets for him. First of all he's a pg, there are tons of decent pgs you can get at a fraction of a price, hell we have Canaan, Bev and Brooks on the team already. Lin has value because you can play him with either Harden or Bev, you can't do that with Rondo. Rondo's a horrible finisher and 3 pt shooter, sure he can defend but at the end of the day he's just a point guard, he won't be locking up the SGs and SFs we have trouble with, heck I don't think he's dominant enough to lock up other pgs like CP3, Parker and Curry anyway.

this might actually work. Rondo would command the respect of Harden and the coaches that Lin currently does not have and would actually bring up the ball. He'd be the absolute floor general and good things will happen. The real question is whoever the other pieces are. They would have to strengthen the bench and takeover the scoring that Lin provides.

His ppg have gone up only because he's taken more shots. He puts up poor %s.

I think what clouds Rondo's ability right now is that he's still hasn't played that much this year. His ACL injury made him unable to play for more than a year. I think that's enough to cause doubts to his game.

Well, if they think Knight's 16 points on .511 TS%(which is way below NBA average and massively below Lin's .586 TS%) should be treated like a semi-star, then they'd be a stupid organization. But I guess they are a horrible organization, so they may just think that.

Oh, and once again I refer you to Ilyasova's contract.

Rondo is a very special player and leader.
He's definitely better than Harden. Horward maybe?
Any chance to get Rondo, Morey will do that.

Ilyasova had a terrible start to the season. He's been trying to fit into Drews stupid rotation and recover from some injuries. The last 2 months he's been shooting 37% and 44% respectively. Much closer to his last 2 year averages of 44 and 45 %. He is a legitimate stretch 4 in a bad situation. The time to buy is now not when the price goes up in the summer after he finishes the season in the high 30's. Morey knows that.

He's most definitely worth his contract. Especially when you consider what Lin is getting in the next 2 years. And it expires just in time to sign KD. If Morey has aspirations of signing someone else in 2015 than that's a different story but you have to forget about KD then.

Still I probably wouldn't do the deal unless we have some other deal to replace Lin. If were signing Rondo we most definitely need someone like Ilyasova to make up for his man not guarding him behind the arc. Something's got to give because 25% shooting or less from three positions on the court at the same time is a formula for sucktitude. Didn't we learn anything with Asik and Dwight.

I have to agree. I think Rondo is someone that people respect around the league. KG, Paul Pierce, and Doc Rivers have nothing bad to say about him at all. The only teammate that did was Ray Allen and I chalk that up to sometimes it just doesn't work out. Not everybody has to like each other. Rondo would garner Hardens and Howards respect because he has won a championship while they haven't even sniffed at one. Yeah sure both of their old teams got to the finals but neither of their teams had a chance. Rondo is a demanding, "*******" as Kobe put it and I have to say I love what Rondo said in response to Kobe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE8qNdY644o

We're gonna end up with Marcus Thornton and be happy with it.
