Sorry, I meant to type that I don't see Parsons getting moved in this Rondo trade. If there ever is a Parsons trade, however, I DO see Parsons getting traded in one of those.
Why not? Because the Celtics wouldn't do it? That's the only way he wouldn't be traded if the deal for Rondo was actually on the table. Any GM would make that trade to get Rondo onto this Rockets team. A top 2 center on your team, a top 3 SG, and a top 2 point guard makes you a contender.
Thanks, Carl. Many pages back, jtr said that Rondo wasn't a star. I'm at a loss as to why he'd say that. Rondo has won a championship, been an All Star 4 times, twice defensive first team and twice defensive second team, has lead the league in steals once, and in assists twice, is an excellent rebounder for his position. What does the guy have to do to be called a star in this league? Sure, he's got a bit of a rep as a pain in the arse, but he's far from the only terrific point that has that rep. Paul and Lowry immediately come to mind. While I don't know if I'd want to deal what might be required to get him, especially if it includes Chandler, it's easy to see why Morey would be interested in Rondo.
Brewer & Casspi are so adorably awkward in that .gif lol. That said, they are about the only 2 I wouldn't mind losing. Sorry not sorry.
I love Morey. Parsons wants to get paid but he isnt worth that much to be honest. Lets get a real 9-10 mill guy in rondo.
What if parsons is ok w being traded bc he gets paid more and sooner. Wouldn't that change perceptions around here, and doesn't it make a little sense at least, if not a lot of sense.
For the time being. When Parsons hits free agency, look out! And dude will hit free agency in either July 2014 or July 2015. I think Morey moves him before that happens, but I don't see him being moved this season. Maybe in June/July 2014, I.e., after the season is over.
Parsons, like Morey, understands this is a business. Some clutchfans are too young to understand the business side of things.
Exactly. I like Parson's game but he is definitely tradeable... playing in this rockets fast paced offensive system helps him too.
I'm with the crowd who would rather give up two unprotected firsts than Parsons. If we're in win-now mode, those picks can go, and we roll with Rondo. We don't need picks the next two years that badly.
Rondo is worth way more than 9-10 million, which is the floor salary for a starting PG on a contending team.
