Even if rondo doesn't work out he's a good trade chip for next season or in the draft. It's a player teams will be willing to over pay in a trade to get him. Sucks to lose parsons for him but parsons wouldn't be able to net you as many assets that rondo can. Plus if he becomes restricted we can poison pill his contract again and retain his services.
We are in position to trade 2 unprotected 1sts. That should be enough to leave Parsons out of the deal.
I agree with you and Bev hasn't been "that good" even when guarding the elite guards. Lillard has played pretty damn good against him. Rondo locks em down!!!
Morey dealing parsons will be almost identical to okc dealing harden. It will come back to haunt them... Morey won't trade parsons. I believe in you and that you are hearing that... But it may be a leak from Boston to drive up the price. Also how will Howard react to parsons being traded?
If we give up parsons rondo better come and get back to his 100% healthy days then it's a no brainer deal
Really. Have you looked at his xRAPM? His ASPM? Well, to sum them up, they are mediocre. They say you are wrong. In fact the Celtics had a much better record after his injury last season. How do you explain that? Let me give it a whirl. It is the golden years for point guards. However if point guards cannot score reliably defenses just sag off of them to cover much better offensive players. Therefore when players like Rondo go down with an injury, they are replaced with (slightly) more competent players. The defense does not hedge as much and therefore the team gets better.
I don't trust Green anywhere as much as I trust Parsons. Green is infamous for All Star numbers one game and total crap the next. And I don't think the salaries match up. Green is making 8.7 million to Rondo's 12 million and Lin, Asik and Parsons would not cover it. Plus, he has a player option for 2015 which is a Morey "HELL NO". But if James can become more of a finisher and less of a creator/initiator on offense, then getting Rondo would be all the worth it.
You have your opinion based on your stats. I prefer my opinion based on what i see when I watch the game. Carry on with your rant if you want.
I can see some trades needed, but you need to keep the core together for a little while before making major changes. Cant trade alone but would be ok filler: Brewer, Caspi, Garcia, Brooks, Smith Would like to trade but don't want to get back less than sending out: Asik, Lin Can see trading: DMo. (Just hope it's not for another 2nd round pick) Would trade for the right upgrades: Beverly, Jones Would shop but expecting the world: Harden Would not shop for anything less than elite: Parsons Um...no: Howard
That goes without saying. If they want picks, we can give them picks and make the salary work without losing CP25.
Drew was saying 70% a week ago. He said 65%-70%, I would honestly take these with a grain of salt. Trades are nuanced and can fade as fast as they spurn. I would say the chances are better than 0% to get Rondo and that is enough to keep it interesting this week.
Pre acl rondo!!!! Acl recovery rondo doesnt look that sharp yet. and why would boston trade a "allstar" unless they know he not 100% . i want Kevin love!!!!!
All I want to say is that I hope Morey is smart enough to consider it from all angles. Do I trust Morey most of the time? Yes. Do I think he is infallible? HELL NO. Stern saved us from what could be the biggest blunder in Morey's career. No more basketball reasons can save us if Morey is wrong this time. Rondo will be a high risk high reward deal. It's good to take high risk when you are bad. It might not be good to take high risk when you are already good. I am very scared about getting a guy with an injury and attitude history. Well I said that when we got Dwight too. So what do I know?
dunno how id feel about this, guess id take if price is right? if parsons is getting dealt to get rondo, i want no part of that.
