If we go by what King Drew said awhile back then maybe a Lin, Asik, T Jones for Rondo and Green would make sense. Rondo Harden Parsons Green Howard That's a legit contender.
Rondo is a great player but he just came back from a season ending injury. His chances of getting injured again are extremely high, especially considering he'll play in the West. PG's nowadays are too injury prone and he is one of those players that drives to the basket a lot to compensate for his inability to shoot the ball very well.
You have to understand that the wrong move could kill the team. Its not as simple as stacking stars and trading away assets. Lakers Big 3 was living proof.
Is parsons really an option of letting go ? Who would leave also from rockets LIN or ASIK ? is bass involved ?
Do you think Morey would give up Parsons in a deal for Rondo and NOT say "oh ok Danny, we'll take that ugly Green contract off your hands - but you don't get a pick"
Don´t want to be disrespectful, but if don´t think Rondo was ever a top 5 PG, you are probably one of those guys that think Lillard is top 5 PG right now, even tho he lets opposing PGs go off on him on a daily basis. You see, you have to play both sides of the ball and Rondo IMO is the best PG defensively yesterday, today and 5 years from now regardless of injuries. Once again, injuries can be a concern, fit, whatever, but the idea that "Parsons is too much", IMO is a joke of an opinion.
Probably not, but why make a move right now? Why not wait and try to get that third star in the off season and still keep Parsons?
It doesn't matter that Morey has connections in Boston. That's not going to make them want to give Rondo away. I would prefer the 2 first rounders if I'm a Boston GM. Parsons and min don't have enough potential to give away a game changer like Rondo. Does he fit on the team? Doesn't matter. You need the perimeter d and clutch playmaking when going up against Paul, Westbrook, parker.
give me BASS & RONDO and we have a deal. Humpries if you can wing him too. Letting go of jones is a non issue to me. Bass will be better in the playoffs
The question is not can Rondo ever be an average player again, but was he ever anything but an average player in his career? Playing with Allen, Pierce and Garnett makes it ever so difficult to assess a point guards abilities. Did the Celtics ever miss him when he was injured? Do they have a better dRTG or oRTG now that he is back? Or are they losing like the sad sack team they currently are even after he came back? And when this season have things not gone smooth for the Rockets? Quick what is their longest losing streak? How many multiple game losing streaks have they had? Did you actually have a cogent point?
Okay? He has good games since coming back. Coming to a new team isn't like easily fitting a puzzle. You have new teammates and have to re-build chemistry. I'm not saying Chandler Parsons is a future 5-time MVP, but why are some of us obsessed with Rondo's game? When you give up your starting SF, who do you have left to fill in that gap?
