It says a lot when Blazers would rather give minutes to Thomas Robinson than Meyers Leonard. Unless they give us Lopez and Matthews in return for Asik, I say don't even pick up the phone.
Asik is a far better defender than him, and he can provide some offense as well. He would a very good fit next to Aldridge.
Are you sure? In about 30 minutes of play, Asik catches the ball about 4 more times after it hits the rim and/or backboard than Lopez does.
lol at you comparing anybody to last year's Asik when we now have this year's Dwight. Yea ok smh. Asik does more? He rebounds & defends. Mathews is a ball handler, who can score & defend. STOP OVERVALUING OMER ASIK PLEASE!
Asik committed two turnovers a game last year. Even without looking at Lopez's stats, I can guarantee that Asik's rebounds-assists on a per minute basis is better than Lopez's rebounds-assists on a per minute basis. Also, it is very tough to take your opinion on Matthews seriously because you obviously haven't seen enough of his play to even know how to spell his name. I really like the way Matthews plays and think a deal entered around Asik and Matthews could work. Asik is more valuable so Portland would need to give something better than the proposed deal.
Lopez and Matthews for Casspi and Asik for starters to make this a serious trade. I highly doubt that Meyers Leonard will even break the rotation. I'd sooner gamble on holding onto Asik for a better offer. The Rox still have this deadline, the off season, and next trading deadline to gamble on a better offer. A fringe team or a competitive team will definitely have interest in a top 5 defensive center. Barring that, it's addition by subtraction. I would not want a conference rival to get shored up by an Asik with a chip on his shoulder against us. As much as I would hate for Asik to go, it's becoming apparent that he's checked out and waiting for his next destination.
This is typical Espn. Myopic and overtly conventional in its player valuing. Honest I believe it's trolling more than anything.
The idea that we are going to make a major trade with a team that is tied with us for 3rd in the conference is pretty ridiculous.
this is beyond laughable -- Matthews is a nice piece but wouldnt see that many minutes backing up Harden. Leonard is straight up terrible I would do like Asik/Future 2nd/Casspi for Lopez and Matthews
Why? Morey has said he doesn't care who the Rockets trade with. If the Rockets were OKC and considering trading with Miami, maybe that would come into play.
