They had a lot of banging 3ds deals late last year. I purchased the mario + luigi 3ds xl bundle for $129. I already have two 3ds's, but the price was too good to pass up.

Yeah, like I said I was very close to buying myself one so I could play the new Zelda. Or randomness with my wife.

I ended up going for the vita, and I don't regret it slightly. I have a lot of fun with it, and the graphics are a loooooooooooooooot better than the 3ds.

I like both frankly. Plus again...playing with PS4 graphics on Vita is a sight to behold.

Though everyone is getting used to hearing xbone games being 720p I myself find it hard to believe that the legendary Kojima cannot get a 2 hour game to run in 1080p in a next gen system.

There are a lot of reasons for it not happening as of yet. First of all Kinect does take some of the resources, but that is changing. Also, developers had much less time with the Xbox One SDK. The Xbox team is extremely confident as they both tweak the Xbox One and as developers get better at utilizing the Xbox One's SDK - 60fps 1080p will come.

Just look at the quality of launch-day Xbox 360 games to current day Xbox 360 games. It is a problem that simply won't be a problem in the future. It has been shown that 1080p games can run at 60fps on the Xbox One.

They traded off the best game resolutions now for the future. The future is Kinect (and voice) along with cloud computing. This is a reason they wanted to make it an online-only console to begin with. The console gaming world we know now, won't be the same in the near future. At least, that is what they are betting on.

    Ugh...

Why do you guys keep throwing out the "It did 1080p 60FPS in one game, so it can clearly handle 1080p 60 FPS!" so much?

For the 1000000000000000000000000000000th time, the PS3 demonstrated it could do 1080p @ 60 FPS (launch games did it even). And yet, how many games actually support that overall? Hell, MGS5 is sub-HD and barely 30 FPS. Wouldn't it make more sense that it be 1080p 60 FPS? After all, it has been shown that 1080p games can run at 60fps on the PS3.

I don't mind discussing the other points, but that is such a throwaway (and worthless) comment by itself.

That's basically Microsoft's stance on the entire situation. Resolution is only a tiny part of what makes a good game... it is just an easy target to latch on for haters and critics.

I personally wish every Xbox One game was 1080p and 60fps, just so people would shut up about it. It will get there, devs just need time with the hardware and SDK. That's the funny part, this is a non-issue in due time.

There will always be an issue of resolution/IQ with the XBO since it just isn't as powerful as the PS4 (especially in these areas). Extra dev time and improvements in the SDK won't magically make the hardware more capable in that area (in comparison to the PS4).

People are making a big deal out of it because it is a much bigger difference than what we typically saw last generation, and folks usually made a big deal out of those differences (including MS IIRC...but now the shoe is on the other foot).

The Xbox One is capable of 1080p, 60 FPS. 3 launch games proved that (Forza, Fifa, and NBA 2k14). There were some issues with drivers of developers faced, but are being addressed. Hell, 2 different EA teams had different result. Madden runs at 1080p, 30fps....while Fifa was 1080p, 60 fPS. However, I expect Madden to be 1080p, 60fps next version in August.

Yes, the PS4 is more powerful....but the Xbox One will be fine.

The hardware discrepency is much bigger now than we saw with the Xbox 360 vs. PS3? No you're trolling.

I could explain why I think that (raw numbers and such), but will you guys actually partake in genuine discussion, or just continue throwing out PR points from Major Nelson? I'd rather not waste my name to be brutally honest.

Yes the hardware architectures are much more similar, but the power differential is also clearer.

If the goal for resolution is 1080p...and the PS3 could hit that...then why will there always be an issue with the XBO? Unless the PS4 is going to hit resolutions higher than 1080p, then it really doesnt matter that the PS4 is more powerful, bc both systems, in due time, will be hitting that number all the time.

I think Im missing your point...but are you actually saying that the XBO will consistently have issues with hitting 1080/60fps on a regular basis? If you are, then how do you come to that conclusion? This has nothing to do with a comparison with the PS4...just a straight diagnosis of what the XBO is capable of on it's own.

I think most people here are disagreeing with you because your posts indicate that the XBO hardware is not capable of pulling off 1080 regularly for the life of it's cycle.

Exactly this. There have been 1080p Xbox One games and there will be many, many more.

Trolling how? Is it not a FACT those games are 1080p, 60fps? I thought that was the resolution and Frame rate goal of both systems? You seem to think the XBO is not capable of 1080p, 60fps, when if fact it is. If you think BOTH these systems will not improve their basic performance in games as time goes on, then you are not very wise. Just look at the previous generation.
