    Rockets
    Out: Lin, Asik
    In: Rondo, Plumlee

    Suns
    Out: Okafor, Plumlee
    In: Asik, Wallace

    Celtics
    Out: Rondo, Wallace
    In: Okafor, Lin

Of course the big hurdle here is convincing PHX to take on Wallace. But, maybe they'd do it considering they have rehabbed so many other careers.

Melo won't permit them to trade for Lin either. That could be what Steven A. Smith was referring to. Maybe they asked Melo what he thought of the idea.

I go back and forth on Lin getting traded. I will say anybody who thinks Dolan would never take Lin back needs to take a look at who that team's starting PG is. Raymond aFelton is terrible. Also, that team has to upgrade the supporting cast, otherwise, Carmelo Anthony is liable to walk. Beggars can't be choosers! Finally, "time heals all wounds," as they say.

No well-managed team gives an individual player the final say on whether or not to acquire this or that player. What a terrible organization the Knicks are. Having said that, Carmelo is desperate for help. I think Lin-to-New York makes a lot of sense.

The Knicks are an organization that values buzz at least as much, if not more than, winning. "The Return of Linsanity" would create a TON of buzz.

Also, don't use the NBA trade machine as gospel. The deal Miami and golden state made (can't remember the 3rd team) didn't work in the trade machine.

    a crazy thought...

    Rockets send:
    Jame harden
    Jeremy Lin
    Omer Asik

    Cavaliers send:
    Kyrie Irving
    Dion Waiters
    Luol Deng

    Line up would be

    Kyrie Irving/ Patrick Beverly
    Luol Deng/ Dion Waiters
    Chandler Parsons/ Garcia/ Omri
    Terrence jones/ D-mo/ Omri
    Dwight Howard/ D-mo/ Smith

I don't believe that the Cavs would trade Kyrie Irving unless they get LeBron or KD for him. At the moment they probably dream to get one of those two on top of having Irving. However, Deng and Waiters for Lin and Asik or Deng for Asik would probably interest Cleveland. I think either Cleveland player is minor interest to Houston. Lets say Asik and Lin (+Brewer) for Varejao, Zeller and Miles/Jack would not be too bad. In fact, I think it would be a great trade for both teams as the styles of the players would match much better that of the teams.

That is a bad trade for the Rockets.

Harden is the best player in the deal, you don't deal the best player. You can get Deng without including Harden. Kyrie Irving has only regressed this season.

Deng can only be traded by himself.

Rockets Receive: Spencer Hawes and Evan Turner
76ers Receive: Omer Asik, Francisco Garcia, and Donatas Montiejunas.

    1. Rockets get a big man(Hawes) who can play next to Dwight in the starting line up as stretch 4 for about 6 to 7 minutes till we bring in T-Jones as a 6th man so Hawes can rest and back up Dwight when he checks out.

    2. Evan Turner can back up either SG or SF.

    3. Our bench gets stronger:
    J-Lin
    Evan Turner
    Casspi
    T-Jones

I know it might not be a very popular opinion, but Gasol might be able to provide the Rox with some help. I'm not sure how he would feel coming off the bench, but it would only benefit his health. He's a good defensive and offensive player, but I feel since he's a bit older now he can't just go at it as a starter (high minutes).

The downside? His current health and it would mean we would be helping the Lakers. Kobe plus whomever would be the primary scorers since Asik doesn't require the ball.

Theoretically ours will be low first rounders for the foreseeable future, so have at it, Morey. Then again, I'm still nervous about Rondo's outside shot given how much we rely on the 3-pointer.
