Really? His only claim to fame is beating the Colts, had he not gotten that ring he would not be a HOF and likely you would have never heard of him
LOL. Didn't Namath have awful career numbers? Also, in the 1960s, weren't most of those guys making the modern day equivalent of a Target employee? Didn't most of them have part-time or Summer jobs and crap like that? Plus the fact it was, y'know, the 60s. I'm guessing they had beer in the lockerroom, if not the Gatorade cooler. Hah.
No.. I just don't want a QB who blows coke in the offseason like it's his job. Anywho, i revealed what i choose to about situation. If the texans trade anything for mallett they are beyond full blown r****d
Not enthusiastic about Mallet at all. How can the Texans be willing to trade for this guy, yet fret over Manziel chasing tail in college? It makes no sense, none. I think the stuff about his immaturity is media chatter, and if the Texans pass on him, it's going to be because of concerns about his frame, not about his "maturity" issues.
If the Texans are willing to trade for him, it's because O'Brien has convinced them it's a good idea and he'd know him better than any of us. Also you can't compare Mallet and Manziel because sure both of them like to party, but Mallet has the physical tools that sets him apart. When the Texans pass on Manziel, it'll be a combination of lack of NFL talent, lack of physical tools, lack of mental tools, and his maturity issues. You can make up for lacking maturity or whatever, but you have to have those other tools in order to do it.
Mallet also has his tour of duty as an understudy going for him. Not to mention the fact that he's been playing in a BOB style offense the entire time. Those two things increase his chance of success ten-fold over a guy like Manziel (poor physical tools, limited experience, etc).
Oh absolutely. You can't teach 6'6 245 and all those years under Belichick watching Brady can't have hurt any. I think there is a chance that a deal could get done, and if it did, I'd give it a chance before criticizing it.
Everytime I hear this guy's name being mentioned...i immediately think Matt Schaub... Ryan Mallet is Matt Schaub 2.0....
Well if that was true and he could stay healthy and we put a legit defense behind him while he's in his prime, that could easily equal a SB.
I should have been more clear, it was Manziel I was referring to when I said if the Texans pass on him. I agree, Manziel's partying is overblown, but his height and arm strength are legit concerns.
Obviously you've never seen Mallett throw a football. He and Schaub are nothing alike. Mallett can throw a ball 60 yards from his knees. Schaub hopes he can throw a ball 50 yards standing up, As far as the coke thingy goes, if BOB says to trade for him he's vouching for Mallett's character and that's good enough for me.
So can Jamarcus Russell. The biggest thing Mallett and Schaub have in common is they permanently wear cement shoes. If "BOB vouches for Mallett"... My lord..... We are in trouble.
Mallet wasn't drafted high because he was considered to lack mental tools and lack maturity. I also don't buy that those are problems for Manziel. And Mallets physical tools are BS. Being able to move in the pocket is a physical tool you are overlooking. He is literally the slowest guy on the field 100% of the time. He lacks even basic agility/mobility to move in the pocket
Mallett has a quick release and can work in a dirty pocket. Mallett is smarter than Russell could ever think about being. Afterall Mallett is still in the NFL and Russell cant get a sniff. LOL I only want Mallett if BOB vouches for him.
There is a LOT of talk about the Texans making a push for Mallett today, if you believe the rumors, the Pats have already turned down an offer of a 2nd rounder for him.....twice.
