My favorite episode this far. They ended it so perfectly.

I kind of wish I just waited and watched these all at once.

Clearly the 2 cops are playing up the Cole did it angle, but we are shown exactly what he's doing...searching for clues. Unless he's the bad guy and doesn't know it, I don't think Cole is guilty. Of course this show could go anywhere from here.

did I miss a clue, or did they spend ten minutes with him walking around the abandoned school just to show us some more creepy artwork and stick sculptures?

Not a complaint, just wondering if we were supposed to pick up on something else.

Tuddle is the obvious choice for the killer given how these tropes go. Crazy evangelical Christian wants to cleanse the world of loose women, etc.

BTW, I believe it's spelled Cohle. I only know/think this because I have to watch with subs on to keep the sound down with sleeping children in the house. I missed how Cohle/Cole was lead to the abandoned school.

Can't remember why they went their the first time, but they got pulled away before he could look inside, and he was just retracing his steps. I think.

My theory is Marty and Rust staged their falling out, so they could work the case from both sides.

Pretty sure that can already be safely assumed.

They built up Reggie Ledeuax and the encounter with him so much that it was very underwhelming when it actually happened.

love Cole's response when Marty shot the guy in the face. 'That's okay. Glad to see you commit to something.'

Agree with that. But, I guess knowing that they both made it out alive curbed the degree of drama before it happened anyway.

I think also the dialogue from the previous episodes was actually building up the lie they told instead of what actually happened.

Everybody knew it wasn't going to be Reggie from the first episode when they say the killer hasn't been caught.

I liked how they covered their tracks though.

The final 2 minutes was creepy as **** though, I had to skip through it.

Good lord that was intense. Safe to say that this is easily one of the darkest things to come out in recent memory.

    Damn this show is ridiculous.

They keep crapping all over the theories I get in my head.

I'm done trying to figure out "whodunnit." I'm going to try to just enjoy the ride from now on.

in the behind the episode the creator points out that Cohle requested the beer during his interview because once he starts drinking, anything he says is inadmissible in court

Lol, I've already fallen off the wagon. I've formulated my own theory again.

I'm thinking the detectives aren't going after Cohle for the murders we've been following all season. They know he didn't do them. There's very little reason to believe he did them.

I think they believe he found the true killer and then murdered that person. That's why all the signs are pointing towards Billy Lee Tuttle. The "Task Force" he created was mentioned on numerous occasions this episode. The school that is a part of his foundation was the place of the final, creepy scene with Cohle... and it had all the statues in it.

Then they made an off-hand remark about Tuttle dying in 2010, around the same time Cohle came back to Louisiana.

I'm also thinking Cohle has evidence linking Tuttle to the murders in the storage locker. Which will link him to Tuttle's death (in whatever way).

    Just a theory.

I'm not even going to begin to try and figure this out. This episode was even better than Episode 4 which in itself was amazing.

Just when you think it can't get any darker, it does.
