It's still not like LeBron tries to outdo Durant. When's the last time LeBron had a 40 point game, even? LeBron still plays within Miami's system, and still leads his team in PTS and AST totals. REBs too, I think I think he has Durant's stats sent to him to A) remind him that winning the MVP isn't so easy this year and B) to set a standard on what he has to do, to stay within the MVP conversation.
It's the all star game.. who cares. And the Harden bashing makes me LOL.. dude hit a game winning shot for us like three days ago and people are whining that he didn't go hard in an all star game? He didn't even play nearly as much as the other starters, and I'm glad. Just make a couple shots and passes... same for Dwight, make a couple dunks and rebounds, and don't get injured.
tbh i really wanted harden to play well. outside of clutchfans he's one of the most hated players in the league. nba fans around the internet look at him as an overrated flopper who plays no defense. sucks he couldn't show out but oh well hope he plays well in the playoffs because the wolves will really be on him then.
The game isn't suited for guys like Love and Harden. Love excels at fighting for the rebound, and Harden excels at penetrating into the paint, looking for the And-1. Both methods of play risk injury. And you said it youself, LPH. It's an AS game - no need to exert yourself. Besides, there was probably some unwritten code that Durant and LeBron were going to be the focal points, unless someone gets hot during the game (Griffin / Irving).
The Hatred for our players who represented H-Town at the All-Star game is ridiculous. Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves. Seriously. If any of you had just half an ounce of Basketball IQ you'd be dangerous. I for one am proud of Harden & Howard representing Houston in New Orleans at the All-Star game. You haters make me sick. Harden was only given 7 shots the entire game…Durant took and missed about 7 shots in the final minute! Dwight was beasting, & was promptly benched. Lillard & Davis were beasting and played less than 10 minutes each…That trio scored 27 points & 13reb in 30 minutes. Love had 13 & 9 in 32mins. On the East squad, everyone played at least 10 mins…Coach Vogel staying with the hot hand. Scotty Brooks went with his 'superstars' playing Hero ball.
this is true, the ASG is better suited for athletic finishers or point guards with great ball handling and passing
Or maybe you were sarcastic...I just don't know at this point. This thread is just too much gold. LOF's running wild.
the game is actually perfect for harden. fastbreak points, isos, easy penetration because of lack of perimeter defense, and chucking 3's

wait what ? Didn't get that, I'm telling u what others think, don't be salty of u don't like it move on. I clearly said I don't agree.
Yup, great post. Exactly, it was pretty bad management. They even called out the fact that the west bench was super quiet. Some of those guys barely saw PT...
That was actually one of the best AS weekends in recent memory, outside of the weak dunk contest, everything was way better than usual.
Sorry bro, adjusting sarcasm meter as I type... It's just the Aussie in me firing up & sticking up for my mates, lol. I love my Wife, children, God & The Houston Rockets…and not always in that order.
Howard looked good out there, u could tell he wanted the ball more, he got looked off a few times in the post when he had position. You can tell he wasn't trying to risk getting hurt also
I still don't understand why people wanted Harden to do well. Doing well means more time on the court. More time on the court means more risk for injury. Getting injured means the Rockets chances of winning the 'ship this year decreases hard. All for having a good showing at the ASG? Come on. If you Rockets "fans" want people to stop hating on Harden, he can shut up his critics if and when we win the title. He never really got into the flow of the game. I don't think Harden got into the paint many times. And when he did, I don't think he was looking to score. Durant and Blake were trying pretty hard to get that MVP, and the ball handling was mostly done by Paul / Curry in trying to get them stats.
At the end of the day, we had two young stars represent Houston at the All-Star game, played well enough, didn't get injured and are coming back refreshed to continue our winning streak…add to that the fact that Covington and Troy Daniels were killing it in the D-League extravaganza and it was a pretty awesome weekend. Would've loved to have seen McLemore's 720 dunk…but meh.
I'd say a lot of Harden haters on NBA forums are Lakers fan angry that he is succeeding with Dwight (who they also hate) in a way that Kobe wasn't able to.
