I'm not here to go back and forth about rondo I do understand some views. 50% of clutch fans want him other 50% don't. in the "we need rondo thread" we can talk more about that.

But for some reason morey likes rondo. It goes back to him saying how rondo was the starter his rookie year on a championship team. When talking about bev/lin experience in the season ticket holder interview.

King Drew spoke about rondo a few weeks ago from info he heard. then what codman posted in here using his CODE WORDS recently is defiantly talking about rondo, so guess we will just have to wait and see.

Rondo is a true superstar and would be a great asset to get for Asik/Lin. He would keep us competitive as long as we got some more shooters to go with him. And he also keeps us in play this summer for another superstar. Rondo is great bait for a sign-and-trade transaction and he's probably the one player that Miami would be willing to sign-and-trade Lebron for if Lebron told Miami he was leaving. At least, I'm sure, they'd gladly take Rondo back in a sign-and-trade to get something for Lebron if Lebron leaves. But the thing is we most likely could get an 8-14 pick in this draft for Rondo after the season.

And the other part of this deal is that Lin and Asik, if they went to Boston, make Boston a contender. That's a reason why I'm actually questioning Lin going to Boston. I don't think Ainge wants to make the playoffs anymore. But both Lin and Asik are going to push that team's win count upwards. So, perhaps some sort of 3-way or multi team deal with Lin going elsewhere (Knicks) and some of the Knicks young talent going to Boston along with Asik, etc. for Rondo?

No. He'd take some of the ball handling pressure off Harden and create shots for him. He'd get Dwight better looks as well. Our shots will be of higher quality with him in the starting lineup.

Say wut? You have some of the craziest opinions in the world sometimes.

On this board some are even arguing Rondo won't even make us better...

Rondo is not coming to the Rockets without major changes to Rockets roster and Rondo showing he is at least a decent player again. With the Rockets having Jones and Howard starting, PG has to be able to create space.

If Miami were to S&T LeBron, you better believe they'd get more, and I mean MORE attractive offer than Ron-freaking-do. And I'm one of those who want Rondo on this team...

Rondo again? You didn't see Harden's quote the other day? He prefers 18 pts and 10 ASTs over 28 pts. He is not giving up the ball.

Need to do something about Cisco and Casspi's uselessness on the court.

I hope so. I used to love Garcia last season but the dude stagnates the entire offense and is so one dimensional. Tbh, AB should get his minutes since Garcia is a terrible defender.

Casspi is good occasionally but still needs incredible guidance. Dude never scans the court.

I would still like to make a Asik/Varejao swap,Cavs Need a Rim protector and Varejao could Play back-up or next to Dwight if the other team Goes Big and unlike Asik Varejao has some range

"I just tell him keep working be patient" = translation, "As soon as I trade Donatas Motiejunas here in the next few days, you'll be in the big leagues to stay, and in the rotation."

People's love for Rondo gotta stop. You will be very disappointed if Rondo replaces Lin. His true shooting last year was .516, and this year below .5. Lin was forth or fifth in the league among pg at .586. if you say Rondo is good with the ball, you will be surprised to also learn that his turnover rate is even higher than Lin.

Rondo is an elite facilitator , enjoys looking for rebounds, and is an above average defender, but is he really what the team needs?

"As soon as our boss trades Donatas Motiejunas," that is.

Why would they trade DMo? They won't get anyone that can help the team as much in return so they'd just be making the team worse. Also, Covington is a tweener who would most likely get killed trying to guard NBA 4's. It's much more likely that he'd be coming in to replace Casspi or maybe Garcia. I think the PF rotation is set.

It is exactly what the team needs. Rondo also brings intangibles from a leadership perspective that this team lacks.

He will get Harden better shots, along with Dwight. He is an allstar caliber guard who is light years better than Bev/Lin. For the people that do not want Rondo. What are you smoking?

Rondo may be "light years" better than Bev/Lin, but neither of those two have actually been used as a traditional PG. This team goes through Harden.

    Several reasons:

    1) Used to sweeten up an Omer Asik package
    2) Advanced stats tell the real "D-Mo" (Daryl Morey) that Motiejunas is not very good
    3) In an admittedly small sample size, from an advanced stats perspective, Robert Covington > Motiejunas
    4) Covington is a much better shooter
    5) Covington is cheaper
    6) Opens up a roster spot
