Dragic obviously doesn't understand basketball well enough to know a terrible coach when he sees one. Good riddance!

Definitely Morey's biggest mistake. Not Royce White. Not trading Lowry. Not resigning Garcia.

Did Goran actually just say Parson and Durant were great players in the same sentence? Nice!! We'll I guess we know now that we already have our third superstar! Right?

Yes Dragic is a really really good PG, but even if he's still with Houston right now, don't you think McHale would have him come off bench too like Jeremy Lin, who has somewhat similar game like Dragic (attacking guards who drive to the basket a lot and are best when they have the ball in their hands)? Since the Rockets' priority now is having offense of 1st unit go through Howard and Harden, if Dragic started lets say, wouldn't he sort of become a spot up shooter like JLin when he plays alongside Harden? I think if Dragic is still with Rockets, he'd be in a similar situation like Jeremy Lin, ball is taken out of his hands because James Harden needs it, and he's going to be more effective running the 2nd unit, because McHale still would prefer a defensive guard like Patrick Beverley to start, so Harden has the ball in his hands most of the time. The rockets as it is constructed now, don't really need a very very good PG in the traditional sense on that starting lineup. So Dragic would be kind of wasting his talents if he stayed with Rockets, like Jeremy Lin, who on a different team probably would put up similar numbers like Dragic this season with Suns.

When Dragic was on the team nobody seem to have a like or hate to him.

Time will tell, but as of now Lowry and Dragic seem to be the bargains of the NBA. Hopefully Lin can follow suit...

No. Dragic proved to be a better starter than 6th man as soon as Lowry got sick.

Lowry is just as good, if not better.

And he will be a FA. ;)

Me too. I think if we re-signed him instead of Lin, we would be several games higher in the standings right now and would be neck and neck with OKC in the West.

I can understand Morey's thinking about the problems giving him a player option, but I still wish he had brought back Gogi.

Lin is great, but he's not the two-way player Dragic is.

Who knows what our roster would look like today had we kept him instead of going after Lin, but all things the same I think we'd be favorites in the West and a threat to Miami in the East. You guys can keep trying to convince everyone the Pacers this, the Pacers that....I'm not buying.

I feel like this is one of those cases where you can freely speculate... the dollar amounts on Dragic and Lin's contracts are almost identical... in fact Dragic's cap hit is slightly lower than Lin's IIRC. So it was basically a choice between Dragic and Lin cap-wise.

The reason Morey signed Lin instead of Dragic is that he doesn't like giving out player options to non-star players.

With Dragic manning the PG, we would be seriously contending

    Dragic
    Harden
    Parsons
    TJones
    Howard

That is a western final team.

It's unfortunate, because I'm sure if Morey had perfect information that things would be as they are now, he would have definitely given Dragic the player option.

But the fact is, it's hard to analyze what's going to happen in the future. And with the information at hand Morey made the right decision to not re-up Dragic.

That being said, Dragic is one of the top 5 best pg's in the NBA. Lowry is too. And we had both. Oh well. Would be awesome to have either of them right now. But such is life.

The point to take away is, Morey found Lowry and Dragic when they were rotting away on their respective benches (Memphis, Phoenix) and our system helped them grow into stars.

    He'll do it again.

Dragic is lucky he is with Phoenix. He get the freedom with the ball in his hand run and gun shooting 3's . If he was with the Rockets , he probably stand and watch Harden ISO and drop the ball down to Howard.

    He's the man in Phoenix.

Tricky questions all over the place. Loved him and wanted him as a rocket, got a hard on when my friend did a shoot with the guy and when Bullard called him by the nickname I suggested to him. but he is no longer a rocket why should we cheer him on? that' not true rocket fandom! I wish people could bring back the thread around March of that year. I was naive, thought Dragic and Lowry could work but the party poopers said, "breeeeeehhh, two point guards cannot occupy the same space at the same time." If we had dragic now, dragic would have the role Lowry had, and that lowry did not like camping out.

    but to the lost,

i even hit on the pricing for his mercenary skills. 6 million euros. =)

Would've took us to playoffs 2011-2012 would've still been a rocket, didn't happen so Morey went out & got guys that did. I still remember being at Toyota center watching the PLAYOFF collapse game by game.
