For some reason, I can't view the last 6 or 7 posts on this thread, so I'm gonna try just posting something to see if that works. Oh yeah, it was pretty funny to listen to SAS apologizing to Knicks fans saying he was wrong about Lin/Felton. Humility is not a word often associated with the man.

As it turns out, Raymond Felton is the true poison pill.

Whether true or not the fact is money is no object for them. The MSG Network owns the Knicks and only the lakers have a larger viewing audience. The most important item to them is winning a championship. Second is to be entertaining. They suck at both.

The stupidest move they made was letting Lin walk away. Yes I said that and here is why. It wasn't a cap issue for the Knicks because they have no chance of being under the cap until Stoudemire and Melo are gone. And if Melo walks they are immediately in rebuild mode and Lin's 8 mil a year is nothing on an empty.

So if money is not an object why let the biggest commodity as far as entertainment goes walk for nothing. Because they actually were looking at the first option to win a championship and some idiot thought they could do better with Felton. Stupid move.

Lin's contract is only 6 mil more than the standard MLE. He certainly earned MLE money with his Linsanity performance. Morey and Les thought so. But his real value is the extra ad revenue he generates and his Buzz factor.Lin's marketing value has more than paid for his salary in ad revenue according to the Rockets.

In New York Lin's revenues would have been through the roof. Plus the added factor Lin brought excitement to Madison Square Garden. So I suspect since plan 1 has failed they would be willing to give up just about anyone not named Melo to get Lin back. At least they could hope for Linsanity 2.

The problem is Felton and Shumpert for Lin is a crap deal. With Hardaway added it's okay but does it fit into Morey's formula. Does the trade equal the sum of the probability of increased success over the next three years to be higher than it is without the trade, with just a little more weighting on now.

Morey's words translated mean if we keep Lin there is a real possibility of Lin walking for nothing next year which is a decreased success but if we trade him they way we are gelling right now, will we drop off and take a step back. Second translation, first priority is immediate help, second is long term help, third is cap relief. If there is a trade that can help us a little long term and a lot now let's do it. Hardaway and Shumpert for Lin might fit that formula but the loss of Lin would definitely hurt this team now. More than many on here realize.

Realistically it would involve Shumpert and Felton for salary purposes. Shumpert is way better than Cisco so he would help. Felton sucks. I can't see them willing to give up Hardaway Jr.

New York Knicks Trading for Houston Rockets’ Omer Asik, Jeremy Lin?
    February 13th, 2014 at 12:42 PM
    By Matt Agne

Two years ago Jeremy LIn was a rising star on the New York Knicks. He then signed a free agent contract with the Houston Rockets where he became the starting point guard and later moved to the sixth man position. Omer Asik was the starting center when Lin arrived in Houston. However, Asik was displaced by the signing of Dwight Howard. Now the Knicks are trying to put a package together to trade for both of them.

Haven't seen posted. FWIW, read rest of the story at

So you admit that you are an illwisher. Good to know. And you think Felton is a reliable backup then you don't know basketball. Felton hurts the team more than actually helping. When he is on the court he provides nothing but helping the opponents win. And J.R. is inconsistent, sometimes he can be hot but mostly he is not. And if you didn't know already, J.R. has a reputation of being cancerous in the lockerroom. You would not want that baggage in the team. And you say that you are a Rocket fan but what you are suggesting is hurting the team more than that it actually helps. Your problems lies with Lin's fans, but you aim the problems at Lin.

    u know. I don't get it...

The Knicks were one of the best teams in the east last year.

What on Earth happened that made them soooo bad? They have basically the same roster as last year. Was Jason Kidd that important?

whoa! sensitive much? Im not entitled to my own opinion? How am an illwisher, i said its beneficial for both parties...lin gets a fresh start, rockets get some depth for a playoff push (felton and JR will be more productive off the rox bench)...I don't understand ppl on this forum, so many ppl dislike Lin on this forum yet when ppl suggest trades, they dont wann trade him, smh
