Let's not forget we are undefeated when TJones gets atleast 19 points. Why do we continue to run our offense through Harden and Howard? The key to an undefeated season is staring us right in the face.

This is the only thing you could come up with answering my post?

I pointed out the flaw of your post, claiming that we played bad because Beverley was not starting. That was clearly a wrong premise because Beverley did not just not starting, he did not play.

The only way you could claim your point "clearly" would be to show a game with Beverley starting WITHOUT Lin playing and the Rockets beat the Wizards handily.

But, there's no such game. The only game you could show would be the Jan 11 win against the Wizards, which coincidentally also didn't have Beverley playing. In that game, Lin played 43 minutes, scored 18 points, dished out 8 assists, got 2 steals and only turn it over 3 times. His +/- was a team high +18.

I think he was just being safe. After all there is no debate between Michael and Reggie is there?

As far as mid season evaluations go, most writers seem to be giving the edge to Lin. The overall impression is positive with acknowledgement of his versatile dual role and constant shifts between starter and 6th man. He's good for both. The people who give Beverley the edge are mostly here on CF, and they're still trying to convince themselves that they're right.

If Jeremy Lin was a 4-time All-Star, 3-time 2nd team All-NBA, I would personally ask Harden to sit his ass on the bench and have a Beverley/Lin starting backcourt.

But I assume that there should be no debate that on the Rockets team, there should be no debate that Lin's minutes should cater to Harden's, right?

Did you listen to the CF podcast today? MK laid it out perfectly and he isn't just some guy on CF. Seriously of all the people who think Bev is the man for the starting unit I think it's safe to say only around 5% actually believe Bev is an overall better player than Lin. The other 95% recognize that while Lin is better, Bev fits the starting lineup better and it just so happens that there are numbers that back this notion up.

I don't understand why this is such a hard pill to swallow for some people.

Lol. I think you missed the point. Since when is Michael Westbrook an all star? For that matter he plays in the NBA?

Oops. Missed that. I do admit sometimes I get it mixed up due to living near DC back then.

Exactly. I've seen very few posts backing Pat as the better overall player. They get similar minutes and Lin is being trusted more in the fourth. And. We. Are. Winning. Games. I would think that would make every happy.

Yeah, you'd think. I really don't want to see Lin leave - this team's chemistry is at a high right now and he's playing really well. His production/versatility off the bench will be very hard to replace.

The best part is, our team as a whole looks great. The chemistry is getting there, and Lin is closing out games as well with Pbev

Just curious, do we have any stat on Bev/Lin with the 2nd unit off the bench?

I'm not trolling. The coaching staff is smart. They know what makes the team the best. People who are fans of one player are not going to know what is best for the team because the team is secondary. The thought process is clouded up by fanaticism.

So, last year, if someone walked up to me and said, "Would you trade this roster for the entire Miami roster?", I would have said no. I love this team and I love the way it's built. That's not smart, but I'm a Rockets fanatic. Same thing happens with fans of Lin. They don't see the whole picture, only the one player. They love Jeremy no matter what and want what is best for Jeremy. I completely understand fanaticism for Lin because I have it for the Rockets.

I want Lin fans to love what I love. Change their fanaticism in favor of the Rockets. I absolutely love the passion you Lin fans have. I really do. I just wish you would love the name that's on his chest. Houston could use more fanatics.

    Please see below.

Thanks for taking the time to organize all that, LG.

So we are 4-2 against playoff teams when Bev is the only one playing.

We are 4-4 against playoff teams when Lin is the only PG playing.

We've played 13 games against teams in the playoffs with both contributing and we are 9-4 in those games. Jeremy Lin started 1 of those 13 games.

We are trying to win a championship and 9-4 gets it done. The 4-2 gets it done, but 4-4 doesn't get you out of even one playoff round. I'll still take Beverly, but I really think we're best when Lin backs him up.

Now let's imagine that you are a real Rockets fan. If Lin is the better backup for the Rockets then why not enjoy watching him come off the bench? I know I do. His offensive spark is what the team needs every time he comes in. He's almost putting up the same numbers as he did last year from the bench and he's doing it more efficiently. What's not to like about him sparking this team from the bench?

    Assist to Turnover Ratio Comparison?

I have no problem with Lin coming off the bench, but what you did was sarcastically/condescending of what Lin has done this season. You act as if what Lin has done is no big deal at all, saying that those wins were no big deals. You might not have said it specifically, but it sure looks like it. And then you say that those wins without Bev makes Bev the better player, without even showing the games Bev won without Lin...
