I guess there is a difference telling REPORTERS that you want to be the #1 pick and telling REPORTERS that the texans will regret not picking you #1

One sounds scared the other sounds confident

Not sure if this has been posted before, but here is Greg Cosell (NFL Films) on the Colin Cowherd show this past week.

He breaks down Bortles, Bridgewater, and Manziel after watching their college film.

Interesting take from a guy that is pretty well-respected (breaks down tape with/for Jaws for the NFL Matchup show).

In this interview, Manziel says he would love to win a Super Bowl with the Texans:

"They're a team I've watched every year since I was a kid," he says. "I want to be the No. 1 pick. It's something I've dreamed about. With the pieces they already have in place, I could fit in. I'm a Texas kid. The state means a lot to me."

Of course, this also ignores that Manziel had a QB rating of 86.3 while playing in the SEC while Bridgewater had a QB rating of 80.9 playing in the AAC. It would be interesting to hear why Cosell ignores that fact.

the best people at breaking down tape aren't members of the media

I'd agree if it were Colin breaking down the tape, but Cosell is pretty well respected.

From today's MMQB tweets of the week (link)

well the Adj QBR number you used is actually taking into account strength of schedule. Raw QBR is 84.5 to 80.8 in favor of TB.

But, I think Cosell doesn't get too caught up in blanket stats like the QB. Rather, he is watching actual player tendencies and ability.

Man, I just can't wait till the draft.

So tired of the nitpicking, and sly comments in these threads. lol.

Regardless with who they take, hope it all pans out. This team needs a QB badly, going to be a crappy year if we go into it with Keenum and Schaub.

Stats don't mean **** in college. Lefors had a QB rating of like a billion. Nobody cares.

I feel like they know that Manziel gets them hits on their website and that's all Mr. Cakes knows.

    On Russell Wilson
"But while that’s a convenient comparison, in reality, it’s more of a contrast.

“Russell has a different body type, and you can see it, the thickness of his lower body,” another AFC team scout says. “You can’t just group Johnny or any smaller quarterback with him. He also wasn’t a scrambling, read option guy. He’s more of a traditional, system passer who just happens to be really athletic.”"

This outta kill the DangeRuss comparisons

Those are the two worst and most worrisome knocks on Manziel, there is no way you can be an undersized running QB in the NFL for the long run without incurring major injuries.
