Lin Among Favorites to Win Sixth Man of the Year Award

Ginobili is 6th man of the year.

 

For Lin to truly have a shot several things must happen:

Rockets got to finish with a top 4 record

He's got to put up good showings on the national TV games from here on out

He needs to stay hot and up his scoring average to 15+ (imo)

Jamal Crawford, who is the favorite because of stats and playing in media darling LA, needs to drop off down the stretch

Most of the voters don't watch the Rockets unless they are on national TV so they'll vote on a limited impression and Lin needs to be memorable when in the spot light with the team finishing strong. I think next year is more likely for him than this year.

 

Stephenson also has to drop off. I know everyone was psyched to see Lin get his first career triple double, but I think Lance has like 3 or 4 this season.

 

I thought Stephenson was starting for them? Maybe just recently because of injuries but if he's off the bench and considered in the running then yeah he's considered the fav, & it's still quite long shot for Lin.

 

Nah he's a starter. Him and Granger pretty much switched places this season

I'd put Taj Gibson on that list if he keeps up his game. I would've put Nick Young but crappy teams don't really matter

 

Crawford should be a lock unless he drops off or Lin starts going completely insane off the bench. If Lin slams the ball in Jamal's face before the years out, it could sway things.

 

lol, Lance Stephenson hasn't come off the bench at all this season. Been a starter all season long. He got 4 tripledoubles and 16 double doubles

I don't understand the hate toward Lin.

Is Lin some sorta of adopted child of the Rockets? I was reading all these posts about Lin not deserving the 6th man award when he clearly has been contributing to his team in every way possible. I just don't understand how Rox fans on clutchfans seem to dislike Lin.

 

Did they consider part time starters. I don't think he is a full time bench guy.

If he stays consistent and plays like the Lin at the beginning of the season, I can see him winning it. Bev needs to come back soon though. I don't think constantly switching between starter and bench player is helping Lin.

 

If he wins the award, is it validation to his fans that he should be a starter, or is it validation to rockets fans that mchale made the right decision?

 

Both. So it is a win win situation.

Rockets fans on either camp can hold their own celebration party.

 

It's validation that The Latino Post is about to show the world it's on Woj's level.

About a decade ago. Looks like Ginobili may have trouble staying healthy again this year. I say Crawford gets it since almost all the other candidates are on losing teams.
